Will probably only do one more batch this week. Here's a picture of my second batch. My wife and I hit it off with the old guy at his sugar shack in Canterbury...when there was a lull in the foot traffic He lifted up a floor plank..where he hid his Apple Jack from his wife. And I had a couple glasses with him I staggered out of that place...lol It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

Fireplug trapper Joined: May 2019 Posts: 324 Finger Lakes region, NY	Sap's flowing faster than I can boil it here. Holding barrels are full, I have been using the fresh stuff from the trees just to keep up. Probably need to get an evaporator, just don't want to spend the $$.

bblwi trapper B Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 10,843 East-Central Wisconsin	We are running about 900 taps and we have been collecting for about 16 days. We are a somewhere between 4500 and 5K of sap. Don't know how much more. This was a better March than last year for us. Last year 80% of our sap came the first 10 days in April. Tough trying to collect on Friday with 30 mph wind and 22 degrees. It ran the warm night before and we wanted to get as many buckets collected as possible before everything froze up real hard. Flat tires, frozen pumps and icing up all morning, but we got 850 gallons out of the woods. Sugar still upper 2s and even some 3s yet. Bryce
