Do you find it hard to connect and enjoy the game when the players “don’t look like you do?”

Nope, love watching the games. Been some great ones this year with a lot of upsets.

never really thought of it that way been going to my buddy's sons HS games fun time and 2-dollar admission.

I just started watching it last year, some of those guys have some real talent.

I find it hard to watch because I don't like it . I don't play it , so it's not interesting to me


I ride off-road / motocross and therefore enjoy watching races


Never cared what color anyone was ...... although just now when I came in the house to eat lunch I observed bubba Wallace hitting the wall and I kinda smiled

Back in the day, basketball was a fun and entertaining sport. At top end, a lot of skill and strategy went into the game. Can remember some Roy Williams coached Kansas teams that came down and got set, then went into set motion plays that looked like a Russian hockey team. Three passes and they broke you down to a point blank layup or easy shot coming out of a double screen. High pressure, up tempo fast breaks. Several others as good or better.

Modern NCAA and NBA basketball now 100% devoted to inner city youth types that can't spell the name of the school they are playing for, let alone know where it is on a map. No longer running plays that involve any degree of thought, skill or strategy. It is an individual skills display, mostly taking turns chucking up 3 pointers or shake and bake moves. Playground / street ball. NBA lite. Boring as can be.

No, just don't like basketball, never had an interest in playing,much less just watching.
Same with golf.
Or curling.
Nothing to do with the people playing it.

I watch them because they do not "look like I do".

The thing I don't like about the games is the number of time outs. Each team gets 4 time outs, which isn't bad, but then you have to put of with what they call media time outs, not sure how many of them it is per game.

I don't rate players by if they look like me or not. At 5'7" and 210 I don't fit the physical mode that makes for good basketball players. High level basketball players are some of the better athletes in sports, bigger, strong, agile, stamina,fast with great hand eye coordination and learnng court presence.

That said, we have a dirt track right next to a drag strip.
Almost never see a black guy at dirt track, and quite a few at drag strip.

Are those tracks televised live and running commercials?

The foot racing most assuredly is, and the Presidents Cup Nationals here has been televised.
