If your looking, were hiring. 2 turbines 35 - 60 megs, 3 boilers - 1 gas, 1 liquor, and 1 biomass/bark. Starting in the $20s and topping in the $40s. Billerud NA near Iron Mountain, non union.

Biomass no longer a viable option? Put on the grid? Sure seems like someone wants all of our eggs in one basket.

Exactly, seems it would be a advantage to have a military base producing their own power and heat. But even though they produce their own power, and steam for heating the base, I believe they are still connected to the grid .

The average home needs at least 6KW. 1 megawatt equals 1000 KW. 1000KW divided by 6KW equals about 166 homes. It could vary slightly either way.

Im thinking coal or oil is a better solution. Cutting trees, loading hauling chipping loading and hauling again and I bet they need fuel to make them burn hot enough to move a turbine. My guess is they are not doing that great as far as energy spent vs energy created, at least not compared to coal or oil. I just read a big article on a new hydrogen powered train that will soon be running in Canada, the article makes it sound great, speed of 140mph and emits only water vapor. Sounds good how much energy to produce the Hydrogen fuel cells.

Byproduct of logging if not a good saw log it is chipped on site and of to the bioplant. Or the otherwise pulp wood logs go to the plant and chipped. They blow air in to help with the burning. There is massive amounts of wood being wasted that could be used in bioplants just look at the amount of old pallets around businesses for example all over good for bioplant. People have no clue what is wasted in the forestry industry bioplants burn it all.
