The California Reparations Task Force, which was created by state legislation in 2020, is considering a proposal to give just under $360,000 per person to approximately 1.8 million Black Californians who had an ancestor enslaved in the U.S., putting the total cost of the program at about $640 billion.

The task force's final recommendations for reparations will be submitted to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures and send them to Newsom's desk to be signed into law.

According to an expert and leading reparations activist, however, Newsom, a Democrat, should be prepared to use his own power to enact such measures for the state's Black residents if the legislature doesn't.

Just where are they getting this Money and just where are they finding these slaves. My Ancestors were Irish and Indians and they were enslaved so why does that make me eligible for anything?? You work and EARN your money!!! These will just get drugged up, BROKE and then Demand more!!!

BUT, since I'm feeling particularly magnanimous, any American citizen who was once a slave can receive $10,000 from any American citizen who owned or currently owns them.

Also, it's kind of curious that there is only one continent where slavery currently exists.
Why aren't they working to stop THAT with the same fervor that they are demanding MORE FREE STUFF for themselves???

The blacks like to think they have some monopoly on victimhood, they don't lots of people were treated very poorly and also enslaved though out history.

How long do you think $360,000 will last most people. I'd bet within a year they will be broke again and right back to where they started.

When the checks arrive I may go to L.A. Sit in my pickup and watch the festivities. This ought to be good.
