Shakeyjake, there are some bullets impossible to find. game kings and partitions in some calibers for example. Primers and powder availability has improved. Some brass is scarce. Prices are double on most stuff except primers, they are 10X higher

Lee anniversary kit I got at bass pro for $79. Had to take the first one back back the Fram was cracked on one side. Got the new one read the book it came with 3 times then set it up and started loading 270 and 40 s&w. My first loaded ever shot 3/8" groups and I was hooked. It was a great way to get started with little money and I was poor back then. Eventually the linkage broke after 15k plus rounds. The linkage to fix it always $25 and had to be ordered so I got the Dillon 550 out of the box where it had been sitting for 3 months since I bought it and had been putting off learning how to set it up and use it. Well that Lee press breaking prompted me to get the Dillon going and now I have 2 of the 550s. I will buy another single stage if I find a deal on a good one I like having one set up for low volume rounds.

One thing I did not see mentioned by anyone that you should probably add is a stuck case puller

I have never gone beyond a single stage press. I shoot for fun occasionally. I like the versatility of reloading. Started doing it in the 70's with a buddy's equipment. Been at it long enough now my ammo is a bit cheaper. Use Lee equipment a lot. Especially for shot shells. When I started it was easy to load rifle ammo that was more accurate than factory stuff. You still can but factory ammo is greatly improved. Takes most people a few years to break even on ammo cost but the versatility and accuracy improvement makes up for initial cost IMO.

I like having a single stage for working up new load where every 5 shells are having a different weight powder or seating depths. I picked up a like new RCBS rock chucker from craigs list a few years ago for 45.00 .
