Beef prices have made remote excursions for wild meat more cost effective than ever before. Up here burger is going for about $4 a pound if you catch a sale. Some of the best cuts will cost you more than $30 a pound! We usually go bison hunting each spring and this year we decided we couldnt afford not to go. Ended up getting two young bulls the second day out. Going to get close to 1000 pounds of meat out of the two of them so we are good until fall.

Its goes without saying but that meat would cost quite a bit for most members. That said, I'm glad its cost effective for you. Looks awesome. What I would give to chase one with a stick and string....

Great post I grew up hunting to put meat on the table . And the satisfaction of doing that still means a lot to me I might be able to buy any number of different cuts of beef pork chicken etc .But knowing I took the game that will be my meal for the day appeals to me in a way that I can not put into words .Thanks for sharing!!

Yes they are wild bison. They were introduced here way back in the early 80s. Tags are $10 over the counter.

Only 500 of it is mine. My son took the other and he has his own family to feed. My wife and I are both on the carnivore diet most of the time so we go through a lot of meat but I also give some to our oldest daughter and a few elderly people that cant get out anymore.
