I wouldn't expect to see the sold catalog until after April 16; the next receiving date. It probably depends if they think posting it (which they should be able to do today since the data is already in a computer) will make you want to ship for the next Sale. The sale was mostly mediocre/ bad except for beaver, so my guess is not until after April 16.

When did you become such an optimist Dirt!! I would have called it ALL mediocre/ bad, INCLUDING beaver!! I can't understand where all this hoopla about a "barn burner" of a sale is coming from, other than maybe guys that JUST started trapping, and had fur at FHA the last few online auctions!! So in comparison, this one seemed good!! It's been around 15 years since I shipped them any fur, and I had none at this sale either. The giveaways just seem to keep happening every sale, so not very likely I will ship them anything ever again, unless they turn over a new leaf, and actually start doing their jobs (achieving maximum returns for their trappers). To my way of thinking, they are rapidly making themselves obsolete to any trappers who want to sell for maximum profit, but I guess the small hobby trappers will probably keep feeding the FHA "pipeline", even with their anemic returns....?

I know many of you don’t consider species like wolverine, ermine, skunk, arctic fox, etc to be important species but those items did very well at the recent FH sale.
$441.00 average on wolverine. $170.00 top on white fox $29.00 top on skunk $20.00 average on badger.
In my opinion, those are numbers to brag about. My memory isn’t what it used to be but I don’t remember top prices like that, even in the fur boom days.
And compared to the past few years, beaver and otter prices weren’t that bad.
Some items did suck - wild mink, raccoon, coyote, sable. But what is FH supposed to do, sit on those skins for a few more years. Even with low prices, there will be guys out there next year chasing coon.

No skunks or badgers in Alaska. Local sales FAR surpass FHA on any of the species we do have to trap up here. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad some FHA shippers sound so happy.... more power to them!! My perspective will continue to remain, "why would I ship them fur, when they continuously underperform by many, many times, the value I can get at local sales, for most items?" It doesn't matter to me where anyone else sells, or what anyone else sells for, if they are happy with the deal. I fail to see what reason I have for shipping fur to FHA, who can't even kind of compete with local prices? After all, isn't the auctions job, from a trappers perspective, supposed to maximize the trappers return for their fur? Bottom line, FHA is going to do whatever it needs to do, to stay afloat, even when it isn't necessarily what is best for the shippers. Unless they change that behavior, and start realizing more acceptable prices, I won't be one of them..... I'm glad we have more options, and far better options.....

The last batch of otters I sold were $210.59 average, a few weeks ago. Mink were $61.04, and marten $112.50 I didn't have any beaver on this sale, but the previous one I did have a batch on, they were $115. Those are my personal averages, I don't know what other guys averaged...... I'll say again, FHA has not been impressing me?? I don't care how many pelts of a certain species an auction sells, or what other people's pelts bring!! Only mine, it does me no good if someone else gets way more or way less than me....?? I sold everything I shipped for the last sale, so 100% clearance....

It was a good beaver sale for Section III beaver. I think we agree the only good beaver sale the Canadian Auctions had in the last 30 years was 2012?

So you are saying its a limited niche market you are selling to and not relative to trappers in the rest of North America who sell to the international raw fur market? I think we figured that out already.

So you are saying its a limited niche market you are selling to and not relative to trappers in the rest of North America who sell to the international raw fur market? I think we figured that out already. No, I'm saying FHA has NOT been doing an impressive job of finding a way to auction fur for acceptable prices for quite some time.... I just find it interesting that so many people seem to think this was a GOOD sale?? If you are happy with your results, by all means, keep on shipping..... someone needs to keep the lights on there, in case they ever manage to get back in the game....... there are currently many far better outlets for most good fur, for the individual trappers collection, than FHA. Thus, for yet another auction cycle, FHA has made themselves irrelevant for those of us who know better...... this is all speaking for myself personally. Obviously lots of people are still shipping fur to them, so others have a different opinion
