Good call IMO Tom !

At some point it may be time to buy some TLT. Eventually things will turn around and rates will fall. Might even be in my lifetime ))

I don't have much of an opinion on 3M. However, I think their layoffs are troubling relative to other companies that are also laying off employees. 3M did not see a hiring boom after t the pandemic like many other companies did. I have to wonder about that.

Nice dividend..........IF it is safe. Their last earnings report was nothing to write home about. If we do experience a recession, I would worry about the dividend. They are already paying almost 60% of earnings as a dividend

What is it you like about the company ?

Well. I like their products for one thing. IMO 3M makes the best tape around. Their stock now is the lowest it's been in the past 10 years. Just seemed like it maybe might be a good time to buy some? If of course they don't end up going out of business lol.

Well ya know that's a pretty good position to take. One of the more successful money managers in the last 40 years was Peter Lynch. He noticed the big displays of Leggs in the stores and his wife and daughters bringing them home. He did some research and bought the stock. One of the most successful trades of the 1990's.

If you use and like a lot of a companies products, it's a fair bet that others feel the same way. Nothing scientific about it but it is as good a reason as any for considering a purchase.

We sat down with our financial advisor last September and we setup our plan based on needs, risk tolarance, goals, how much to have in more secure accounts for use and are letting him decide what and when to buy or sell. We will see what the future brings. His past record has been very good for us.

Ive done the Pepsi route. Besides the beverages (I prefer to drink Coke over Pepsi on the extremely rare occasion that i drink pop), I really like the other companies under the Pepsi umbrella, including Doritos, Lays, Cheetos, quaker, Mountain Dew..etc. Its worked for me, but certining nothing wrong with KO

I agree. I would prefer to drink coke but would rather own PEP for the same reasons Midlander. The two stocks seem to be equally cheap or expensive depending on how you view them.

KO was one of the first companies I invested in,,,,

Pumping gas as a kid we would have too refill the coke cooler 10 times for every Pepsi

That was my reasoning back then. it’s been a good company. great investment. Great dividends

Myself, I’ll walk across the street too buy a coke for more money. Also seems more world wide

Added a lot over the years. Just added more

I was just giving an example, not looking too argue

No question it the one of the most recognized brands world wide.

I own BRK so I already have a position in KO That is another reason I don't buy it as a stand alone. Same reasoning on AAPL
