That's the training I went thru too....
Those officers followed that training well.

Leftlane, thats what we were taught over 15 years ago in the first active shooter school I attended. Those schools have been the benchmark or hallmark of how we train and have gotten better with time. not only did we go as an entire Dept, we had our Sheriffs Dept. Constables, State Troopers, and every other agency in the county training with us, The concept is, it doesnt matter where in the US i may be, if an active shooter is going down, I should be able to blend in with any LE agency in this country and we do exactly what those Troops did. Search and Destroy to stop the killing of innocent folks.

I can't help to think that the Uvalde police chief was on someone's payroll who didn't want a quick response, being close to the border and all. May have just been a coward. Glad to see it went different in Tennessee.

I think there's a chance some of those officers where on the cartels payroll and once your compromised morally it's like a sickness that spreads through you.

^^^This is why so many are still PO'ed about the whole situation and how they lied about it from the start. Crap runs down hill, no way will I ever believe that a Police Chief had so much stroke to ward off all those State Police (who happen to be their in mass droves now due to Abbotts border policy) Too many good LOE officers I know that are sick to their stomach. You watch that Uvalde video and many of them were ready to go. Someone was telling them to stand down. Its hard for me to believe that all of those police officers were cowards when in that community, they know each other and their kids. WE the PEOPLE still haven't got all the truth out about that. Makes me sick to my craw. DPS, Uvalde PD, and the Governor need to be held accountable IMO. Nothing about that situation adds up, and I still don't think we know the truth of it all.

We went through it, too....for years and years like you say. Seems there is a misconception out there that one in a million departments do this training (along with a ton of other training). "active shooter" was a mandatory yearly training for our entire department of about 900. And we ran through it over and over and over again.
Watching the video, I was amazed at how similar it all went to our annual training. Almost exactly the same. There's no reason why this shouldn't be the norm.
