My pacemaker has an infection. Apparently once plastic gets infected it can't be cured and they are afraid it could travel down the wires to the heart itself. Tomorrow I go to Marshfield Clinic to have the old pacemaker and wiring taken out and a new unit and wiring installed on the other side of my chest. Depending on tests, infection spread and scheduling I will be hospitalized from 4 to 14 days for this double surgery. Anybody looking for someone to pray for, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Update:
This was a bit more complicated than I expected. On Wednesday I got checked in and had antibiotics then and Thursday. Friday I had the old unit and wiring removed. Saturday through Monday more antibiotics. New unit and wiring installed today. Going home tomorrow with lots of restrictions for the next couple of weeks but overall could have been much worse. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. It meant a lot.

Prayers sent Corky, my wife had to have her defibrillator moved to the other side of her chest last November because of cancer surgery. She is doing well now. Good luck and God Bless.
