Hey gents, I have a question and I figured y'all would know the answer. This weekend I was working in my barn on my mowers & tractor and bumped into the tractor tire breaking the end off of the valve stem. I immediately put my thumb over the hole, as it was spewing calcium chloride, and called my neighbor over to give me a hand. He brought a replacement valve insert and we got it fixed, but the rim had some calcium chloride water on it. I noticed some rust this morning starting to form on the rim. My question is, what product is best for removing this rust? And what can I put on the rim to eliminate any further rust from developing?

Id just clean it well to get the chloride off. If youre still worried about rust, wiping it down with a thin coat of oil should stop it

Nasty stuff. I fixed tractor tires for 6 years. Unless you need it for traction, get rid of it.
