Was in a small town Walmart yesterday and saw these ! Couldn’t believe the price . Didn’t really need them but have used them in the past . Only got 1 box before the critics start . Bet they had 60 boxes of assorted sizes

ending in .88 is a sign they are clearanceing them out

I got several at 4.88 a few years back the Remington are definitely not the most premium of turkey load but definitely on par with how #4 and #5 1 1/4 oz hunting loads pattern for me and at that price it is about right for that.

I caught a deal at fleet farm last weekend 4.79 for Winchester slugs have been seeing them for 7.49 recently so I bought some I left some on the shelf for others.

I found a box I bought at a little sporting good shop 2 years ago when everyone was out 23.50 for 15 rounds and the box had to have been 15+ years old so I feel no shame in stocking a reasonable amount of ammo when the price is right many months before season.

last year had I not stocked up on my pheasant loads in April , there were none on the shelf in October

it isn't 1993 any more where you stop at the hardware store to get rounds on the way to the range and they have your brand and load at a reasonable price.

only one seems unreasonably low 5 would have been reasonable

what if you like them , then your looking for a long time to find them again.

Best pattern I got out of my 870 when I tested years ago, was with Remington nitro mag's in #6, they came in a green and yellow box, 25 count. Haven't seen those in years. Are these the same thing in a smaller package?

I would not pass them up for that price. They won’t go bad and don’t eat much. So they are easy to keep. I buy lots of things like that when I find them. There is always a use for them at some point.

I know I like them . Used them for years until was given 15 boxes of Winchester long beards. 10 shells ? Heck I'll be lucky to shoot that many in my remaining years. I fish in spring. I'll kill 1 gobbler and done. Then 1-2 hens in fall.
Turkey killing is too easy . Honestly who that doesn't hunt more than a couple days DON'T kill a turkey ?? EVERY BODY kills one with 8-10 in beard and 1-1 1/4 spurs.. To me comparing it to a 14 in 8 point deer. Running around every where.

Before the stories of how hard the gobbler is to kill remember one thing an old turkey expert told me.

maybe , so many changes in ammo Remington isn't even Remington any more.
actually a good thing the previous owners ran them into the ground , but they are now ATK same as federal , speer , cci
I suspect they are still using a lot of the original Remington recopies they own all that data and the whole plant

all you can do is buy a box and pattern them.

Thanks nephew! Never pass up a small town Walmart. Especially in fall . About 4 years back I bought 21 bags of ammonia nitrogen for 4 bucks a bag . Had to fill out paperwork and show ID . Guess they wanted to make sure I was using it on ground. Still got 4 bags of it left . Weed killer, grass seed . Only time to buy it

For that price and if they patterned well, those would be my 2nd or 3rd shell while pheasant hunting. Cheaper than regular heavy 2 3/4 shells, I wouldve cleaned them out and not felt like a hoarder because I would shoot them. There have probably been more turkey killed with those than the longbeard xr’s. Been around a long time.

That sure is cheaper than my 10 gauge 3.5 inch in 5 shot. Every place I go local just gives me a dumb look when I ask. Now I buy online.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Oh Byrd, I never know where to start with some of your posts. First off I would have bought more, great shells and cheaper than my pheasant loads. Second, EVERY BODY doesn't kill their birds and they are easy
to you probably because of experience and hunting where good numbers are. My 70 year old friend had killed his bird or two every year for 35 years, he's an exceptional hunter. Hasn't killed one the past two years
due to population decline and I believe his hearing. Nonetheless the last two years have been harder for him. BTW, mature bucks only get to breed once a year are they easy?
