i just wanted to share an experience i just had with john deere customer service. I have a 2018 1025r compact tractor the i bought used in 2020 with 94 hrs on the meter, it now has 211hours on the meter. 2 daqys ago the air filter mount broke out of the top of the air intake cover and dropped metal fragments down into the 3 cylinder Yanmar diesel engine. Did some research and saw where there had been kits available to relocate the air cleaner to keep this from happening but i was never notified about a service bulletin on this matter. Called my dealer yesterday and he made some calls and emails and i dropped off tractor this morning. Got a call from dealer about 1 hour ago telling me john deere was replacing engine free of charge as well as paying for the filter relocation kit. Tractor has been out of warranty for 1 year now. This is an issue deere is very aware of. If you have one of these machines built prior to mid 2018 might oughta check the cover plate. Just wanted to share a positive experience i had because usually it works out just the opposite for me.

It's good to hear something positive for the little guy for a change.

Glad they owned the design flaw, whether it was their poor design or the engine manufacturer (Yanmar). Many times manufacturers hide behind "defect in material or workmanship" to avoid covering design flaws.
