We have about 4 blue counties and Baltimore city. The new governor and crew are about to run out the remaining industry and turn Maryland into a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) hole state. We are hanging on for our parents but strongly encouraging our kids to get out. We’ll centralize ourselves between them when the time comes.

Look at county voting maps. Most states are really red. It's the big cities that turn the states blue as far as the electoral vote.
Get me a beer please.

Look at county voting maps. Most states are really red. It's the big cities that turn the states blue as far as the electoral vote. The next civil war will be city vs rural -- my small county is predominantly R - so the trash at the state level cured that - they redrew the lines on the map and made a "new district" - which lumps us in with Salem (state capital) --so I went from having very limited say in anything to having absolutely no input into the current stupidity. Why do you think that the 11 OR counties that want to leave are all on the east side. Of the 6 counties that control the direction of our state (thanks alot beaverpeeler BTW) the total pop of all 11 counties is less than the votes our d gov got in 1 county -- yeah they listen to us- riiight.

What I don't understand is people that move always get there and "this is how we did it back there." Texas will be the next California in 50 years.Good or bad leave the decisions up to the vocal locals, not the carpet baggers.

No secret - I've been looking at Idaho for a while now -- I have been getting much more serious about it lately. With measure 114 (held up in the courts for now) - the latest fur ban crap, the wildlife commision destroying odfw. The fact that our hunting opportunities have been decreasing every year - the fact that big timber cos cut our throat when they signed our new forest practices act. The fact that since I was 10 - this state has been systematically taking away my abillity to make a living and been attacking my way of life. There are 2 reasons why I am still in this liberal s-hole -- the first is taking care of my aging parents -- I am sure I can't get them to move off of the place where they grew up and second I find it very difficult to throw away the land that my parents, grandparents and great grandparents worked their (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) off to build. It will not get better here (look at CA) - at least not in my or my childrens lifetime. At this point I feel I am left with very few options. 1 - end up in jail. 2 - end up in the cemetary. 3- shut up and live under communist rule - (i am not very good at the first part of this see options #1 and 2). 4 -- move out of this state. Not my first choice -but feels like the only viable option at this point. Would it be possible to move, AND hold onto your parents land? Maybe rent it out? I'd have a hard time with that too.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

Texas is predicted to go blue in the presidential election by 2032 based on current demographics.
