I have worked at a golf course for 27 years . Been club champion multiple times . Trapped beaver and rats out of the ponds lots. There is also a beer cart . How does it get any better ? All of the above for me exept for chasing the little white ball thing.

I played once and shot a 47, but they wouldn't let me play a second hole.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Got nine in yesterday. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I don't consider myself a purist, but when I played, unless it was a social tournament setting, it was about the game.......not the social interaction. I was in my own space with mind on what I was doing. Doing that, I preferred to walk. Believe it or not, it is just as fast. Clubs in a light weight carry bag on your back.....hit your shot and go to your ball. Line up next shot and when coast is clear, let it fly. I went off in a 5 some once and we finished in 3 hours, 15 minutes. We were first group off and nobody in our way and we moved on.
I would also visit courses all over and found it falling down funny that when I got to the smaller, 9 hole rural courses, it was all about the cart. They were a status symbol. I saw a guy pull up once in an air conditioned space bubble. He couldn't break 100.
But I also remember another guy........he would always be first off and played by himself, plus his dog. He rode a cart and that was closer to polo than golf. He finished 18 in under 2 hours.

I can walk our hillside course with no holdups in 2hr 15 minutes. I walk in our money games and nobody is waiting in me. Helps that im the longest hitter in almost every group i play in. I do really want a remote controlled cart though as my back isnt getting bettee.
