My perfect day is fishing in the morning and golf in the afternoon.

Like Hoosier.....

Golf with some good buddies a some cold beer after a morning in the turkey woods is tough to beat. France has no turkeys but they have golf and beer. Gotta work with what you got.

I played once and shot a 47, but they wouldn't let me play a second hole.

Got nine in yesterday.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I love the game ! Not very good, but when I do get a hold of one, it sure feels good. Have worked on Golf courses full and part time for almost 25 years. Some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth are golf courses. Played 9 yesterday with my youngest son and friend. We had a blast.

Mark Twain described golf as "a good walk ruined". I usually rent a cart.

I don't consider myself a purist, but when I played, unless it was a social tournament setting, it was about the game.......not the social interaction. I was in my own space with mind on what I was doing. Doing that, I preferred to walk. Believe it or not, it is just as fast. Clubs in a light weight carry bag on your back.....hit your shot and go to your ball. Line up next shot and when coast is clear, let it fly. I went off in a 5 some once and we finished in 3 hours, 15 minutes. We were first group off and nobody in our way and we moved on.

I would also visit courses all over and found it falling down funny that when I got to the smaller, 9 hole rural courses, it was all about the cart. They were a status symbol. I saw a guy pull up once in an air conditioned space bubble. He couldn't break 100.

But I also remember another guy........he would always be first off and played by himself, plus his dog. He rode a cart and that was closer to polo than golf. He finished 18 in under 2 hours.

I can walk our hillside course with no holdups in 2hr 15 minutes. I walk in our money games and nobody is waiting in me. Helps that im the longest hitter in almost every group i play in.

I do really want a remote controlled cart though as my back isnt getting bettee.

Waste of time. I'd rather trap, hunt, or fish.

Love It and can't wait for May! Its my second favorite hobby after trapping. I play in 3 leagues per week starting in May, 2 of them with the Wife. Last year I ended my Wednesday Men's league with a 4 Handicap, partner and I took first. Wife and I have won our Co-Ed league 3 out of last 4 years.

On a personal note, I have 2 Holes in "1's" also.
