The wall, Southern Arizona, San Pedro River flows north into US from Mexico here, according to the date on the steel plate it is part of Trump's wall. The individual slats are wide enough for say fox, bobcat, coati- sized critters to slip through back and forth. Deer, no. Saw whitetails (coues I guess)lots of doves and a coati.

Found lots of evidence of illegal crossing but saw no one or any fresh sign. In this sector it is said that a cartel controls all of the crossing, issuing camo hoodies, pants, blankets, day packs w toiletries, water bottles and well made carpet-soled camo ‘moccasins’ to leave light tracks in the dirt roads on the US side of the wall. Seemed like most of this stuff was tossed within 1/2 mile of the border. I suppose the Border Patrol knows to look for the camo...

Kept some practically brand new camo and a blanket. Also some leather gloves and a camo hat. I guess that was the freshest sign we saw, unweathered clthing

The Rio Grande. Top is at a hot springs in Big Bend National Park, Texas. Middle is at the state park west of Big Bend (upstream) and the bottom picture was at Roma Texas. The Mexicans had a park on their side at Roma. Watched a couple guys fishing across the River catch a fish. The US side was unkempt.

They need to put some Gators in that river.

We parked and walked into Mexico at Naco and Las Palomas. Lots of interesting stuff to see and do. Most people are polite and friendly but at one place a bunch of young guys were getting drunk and loud and acting tough. I was glad when they all left in their brand new pickups, I’m guessing cartel boys. It’s a darn shame things have gotten so sketchy down there not sure what the ultimate answer will be but there is too much money in dope for any real hope anytime soon.

Caught some cool lizards, saw a few javelina and found a bunch of cat sign. This toilet was on a bluff above the Rio Grande

Who knew Texas had mountains. The big canyon is Santa Elena national park on the Mexican side of the Rio grande

Tequila agave? Looking for arrowheads and the border fence somewhere south of Laredo. There were national guard guys with binos posted on the bluff looking deep into Mexico here. Pretty sure the Texas governor called them up to help the border patrol.

This would sure be one way, probably the best way, to keep a lid on things down there but the cartels are more in charge than the government in many areas so I guess that’s out!
