I just fixed the faucet on my Jacuzzi tub. Here's something I found out in the process that might be of interest to someone out there...

I have some Delta faucets in the house, which we built in 1999. The plumbers put together a binder with owners manuals, etc. for the items they installed, but somehow overlooked this faucet - so I did not have a model or part numbers. It also turns out (of course) that this model is no longer made. A local plumber friend told me that if you go on Delta's website and go to the replacement parts page and find their phone number, you can call and someone there will have you photograph what you have and email it to them - and he said 90 percent of the time they will send replacement parts to you for free.

I called the number and got a great guy at Delta in Florida who had me send him photos. In my case, since this faucet was no longer made, they identified parts that will work. He sent me replacement parts via UPS right away at no charge.

I just put the whole thing back together and tested everything. Nice. I cannot wait to soak away some corporate tax stress. grin

From what I saw on the other thread it’s good you got that fix because before long the chickens will be using the tub. grin

As a Master Plumber with 25 plus years in the trade, I prefer Delta faucets over all others. Easy to service and reasonably priced. My least favorite by far is Kohler.
Good job Patrice!

Chris

Thanks, Chris!

And that's good to know, Chris and Marty. I think we're all Delta except for my beloved Kohler faucet I installed in the kitchen a few years ago.

[Linked Image]

I chose the Kohler at that time mainly because I wanted that general style of faucet without it looking contemporary, which a lot of them did. My neighbor (also a Master Plumber) handed me a basin wrench and told me I'd need it. Great learning experience for me. The old stuff was hard to get out and took forever, and the new stuff went in effortlessly. When I told him that, he laughed and welcomed me to his world.

That would be so incredibly cool. I need to do more and learn more mechanical and electrical things to offset the digital world that usually fills my head. I would think the big fun would be installing all new things that work in new construction. On the other hand, it really feels good to solve a problem. Do you do more repairs or new installs?

Randall, they do stand outside the screen door looking into the house, but with any luck, they don't know what they're missing in here!
