I think your more likely to see the Ruger Marlin in 360 buck hammer than 35rem

it is a 30-30 case cut and necked to 358 it actually makes a little more velocity than 35rem, they state 2300fps with a 180gr .358 projectile

they cut it at 1.8 inches to make it a taper wall case .358 it shows no bottle neck so it is legal in some strait wall case states from the looks of it

Same here, except I bought mine in 1983 I think. First new gun I ever bought as a kid, fresh out of high school. I have been reloading for it since Day-1, still have plenty of brass and components to last my lifetime. Its a sweet gun, so smooth, just a soft click of the hammer before it hammers the deer dead.

Nice to see a gun that LOOKS like a gun.

When I began to hunt 55 years ago Ruger was the new kid on the block Yes they had their 22 caliber semi auto pistol and the 10/22 semi auto rifle Plus if I remember they began to market the M77 bolt action rifle in 1969 They where making quality guns but in terms of recognition they where looking up to Remington ,Winchester Colt and Smith and Wesson Now they are near the top when it comes to total sales of guns And the news that Ruger purchased Marlin is greeted as a good move for Ruger and Marlin

I have several rugers. Like em all. Like my old 336 marlin 30-30 too. I am happy the line will continue. Sometimes an open sighted 30-30 is just the ticket to make meat.

I shot my first deer (Muley) With a .243 Lever - be it a BLR ...my Dad sold it though
I haven't had a lever for 46 years. I like the look though , maybe someday I'll buy another.
