I don't think the layoffs at McDonald's are in the franchises. I believe they are corporate level. I have to confess that sometimes I take off the chef's hat, set aside the low carb recipes, and wolf down a Big Mac or Filet-O-Fish and fries. STILL love it.

I go to our local McDs every 2-4 years to remind me why I don’t go there more then that they never change my mind. The issue here is cultural along with just bad food in general. Everything is way over salted and peppered up to the point you can’t swallow a bite of it, that’s if they get my simple order right to begin with. A double hamburger plain with cheese is rocket science there.
I’ve tried other McDs now and then and the over spiced issue is very common and getting my simple order wrong is the next biggest problem.
Culver’s can get my orders right about every time and its way better food for about the same price I’ll go there. I liked Hardee’s but they changed their great chicken sandwich into something I won’t eat after several major changes to it. Burger King is another place I don’t eat at anymore it just upsets my guts for some reason.

I have a Grill in the Back Yard and I wear it out. A person can make about anything on that.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Correct. It is a white collar, corporate restructuring that they announced last January. Not the restaurant people getting laid off Getting rid of all those diversity promotions now that they found out they have to actually be able to do the job. lol Here’s how it’s going to go, gonna transfer the load to competent managers for six months or however long it takes to be free of litigation, then create positions to relieve the work load. They get back to the business of making money and the government gets to post those numbers as “jobs created”.

G I wonder if that $15 per hour starting wage has anything to do with the cost increase that lead to business decrease that is leading to lay off?
I know conspiracy theory that action have direct reactions and poor choices have negative consequences. It's $20 an hour around here. The only way they can stay open is to charge ridiculous prices for crappy food. I don't know who buys the stuff; maybe lazy people with too much money?

I see a kiosk I turn around and walk out not going to do it! I don't care for kiosks either but a houseplant could give better service than a McDonald's employee.

It’s because of automation
By ‘26 roughly 65% of Walmart stores will be serviced by automation
A lot of jobs are vanishing, blue collar and white collar
Where is your proof of this? I'm not saying it's not going to happen but where are you getting your resources from?
