I have one that is 68 years old and she has never let me down yet but does complain occasionally.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

I keep offering to buy my wife another one. I set the old one on fire some years back fooling with an old white gas heater. I was going to take it on a trapping trip. Kitchen fire extinguisher put it right out but it was too late. Gas and fire ran across the floor up underneath it. Bride says it was more trouble that it was worth.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

From now on I’m only buying a dishwasher that’s in stock. I’m convinced if you order one and don’t get the extra warranty they give you a faulty one. If you pay for the warranty they give you one that will last.

I’ve known some people that have had the close to 30 years and others are lucky to get 4 years out of them before the plastic fails, I don’t know if it’s the soap or something in their water.

We have a whirlpool, 33 years. My wife worked at an appliance store when we got it. When the store closed 12 years ago, she bought another one, figuring our original was on borrowed time. Original is going strong and 'new' one is still in the box in my garage.

You sound like you may be a good handyman husband. I bet your wife is glad to have you around making sure you're safe and keeping the house from burning down.

I found mine in the country a county over from where I grew up. For 55yrs old it still cleans like the day we got married 26yrs ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve thought about trading her in a time or two, but I’ll keep her around a little while longer.

I'm 41 and still going strong.

We have a dishwasher here and had one in the old place we lived but I never used them more than a few times. You have to wash the dishes before you put them in, run them, and then wash them again because 80% are still dirty. By eliminating the dishwasher, I only have to wash them once.

I got my portable dishwasher in January of 1995 and it still runs fine. I had to put a wheel back on it twice. That's the only maintenance its needed.

I have a well and the water is hard with a bit of sulfer and iron. No water filter. Get maybe 5 to 6 years and it'll eat the coating off the racks

I picked out a 16 year old dish washer when I was 16. She is still going strong and actually made 3 more smaller dishwashers. She is almost 43 now and still going strong. I sure hope she holds up longer than I do. I don't believe I have the energy or stamina to put into training another one. This one is finally almost fully trained now. By that I mean she has almost figured out I'm not trainable so don't try. I am and always be a knuckle drawing cave man.
