Anyone have one? Do you shoot it and what do you use it for? I just purchased one and it looks like it will be a fun little gun to plink with.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Dads was a takedown model and came with a woven case that had 2 separate pouches for both pieces. It was originally my uncles,he was violating with it one day and shot a nice buck. The deer dropped, got back up and slowly walked away,my uncle said the gun jammed so he walked along side of the deer trying to pick the empty case out with his jackknife .The deer got momentum and took off,my uncle was mad and told my dad he could have it for $15.This was in the forties, dad scrapped enough money together and bought it.Today's value is considerably more than $15.

I just purchased it today on GunsInternational.com from a Maine snowbird living in Florida. I'll grab a screenshot for now and post pics when I get my mitts on it. I've wanted one of these for decades...made a semi-impusle buy today.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Don't have an 1890 but I do have a 1906 that was manufactured in 1913. It is a take down, and it is a fun little rifle to shoot.

My first girlfriend's dad had a couple and I always admired them. I've read they were really popular at carnival shooting galleries. I guess it's no wonder they're hard to find with decent rifling. I like the octagon barrel. This one has a lot of oil soaked in the head of the stock by the looks of it. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/04/full-50853-173625-screenshot_20230404_205121_chrome.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/04/full-50853-173626-screenshot_20230404_205141_chrome.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/04/full-50853-173627-screenshot_20230404_205228_chrome.jpg)

I was fascinated with the hammer and octagon barrel. Just like the guns the cowboys used. Same here, Paul. I'm going to try to find 500 rounds for it and do some plinking. I probably won't fire 100 of them. I'll pass it along to one of my grandsons.

I have to say the pumps are pretty slick especially the Remington's and Winchester's. I'll never not have one. I also have a Remington 141 GameMaster chambered in 35 Remington to match up with the 121. Both carry the factory peep sight. I'm always on the lookout for a 141 carbine in nice shape. Don't see many of them around. It seems when you do find one they are well used and could use some cosmetic TLC.
The 1890 wasn't chambered for the 22 magnum. Actually was the 22 WRF ( 22 Winchester Rim Fire).
