You using a dime in the slot to turn it ? Or grabbing the knob with your fingers?
Us the dime . If it won’t turn either direction take it back to place of purchase and show them what’s going on . Any business with grain of salt will swap out

Does it have a manual in the box? Did you read it?

I have a few of them. It should turn and fairly easily. Return it for a replacement or refund.

I would take off the other cap and see if the windage knob will turn at all. Windage and elevation knobs should be identical in their function.

So I did try the other knob and it works great and the manual reads turn the dials nothing special. The only other thing I found on the turrets in the manual was something on indexing.
I think I will try and call Vortex in the morning for help.

Vortex makes a pretty nice scope with a good warranty. Those Vortex turrets are repeatable. Some scope out there do not have repeatable turrets.

INDEXING: After you zero your scope, at whatever your magic range is, You INDEX the scope by setting the turret to ZERO. (Take that screw out and you can take the increment ring off and set it to zero. Same with the windage). Then if you wanna make a long shot you crank it up (?) clicks. Then to go back to your zero, set the turret back to ZERO. Make sense? Really simple. I wouldn't doubt that there is a U-Tube on this if your having trouble.

Sounded like your scope didn't make through quality control. I'd send it back.

try going the other direction see how far it will go in the other direction if it is like 60 then you are at a stop and you may need shims or to re check your mounting

if it won't go either direction , contact vortex and they will replace it

I have several of the vortex cross fires

took a tour of their complete facility a month ago when I took a training there , everything below the razor line they just replace the glue that holds the budget scope together would tear the scope apart trying to open them up and the tech time be more than the cost in the optic and sometimes issues happen , they do a lot of testing in their design. so the budget models still carry the awesome warranty but they just exchange yours for a new one.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

As others have said; return it to where you bought it and/or call Vortex. You shouldn't be having any trouble turning the adjustments.

I have that same scope on my AR. I use the indexing feature as explained by Osagian. I use it to be able change settings for different ammo and then go back to zero for the ammo I primarily shoot.

Let us know how Vortex or the store treats you.

Eh...wot?

It's a Vortex. They have a lifetime warranty. In my experience with vortex products, that's a good thing, because you're gonna use the warranty more than you use the scope.
