Little ( or big) disagreement with the company that does my trash service at my house. They threatened to have me arrested for felony theft because I’m holding their dumpster hostage until they return my 3 months of pre-payed trash service money. The owner sent two goons out and tried to scare me into giving it to them, but that didn’t work and they left when I called the sheriff to come out for a trespassing and verbal intimidation complaint by me. The owner of the company then called me 20 minutes later and said he wanted his 1000 dollar dumpster back and I said sure thing, when you give me my 302.50 dollars back and not before. He said that my check for that amount is in the mail coming to me. I said I bet it is and did you know that I work for the federal government and I’m here to help you? Don’t think he liked that reply. He really ain’t gonna like the letter he is about to receive from me saying if I don’t receive my money back that they owe me by next Wednesday there will be storage fees of 100 dollars a day tacked on that will have to be paid before they get it back. That aught to blow his dress up.

Why are you owed your down payment back?

I tried to get the electric company to tell me what it would take to get electric to my old cabin again for a few years. Couldn't get info out of them just passed off and excuses. Then a year later they wanted to put an additional pole on my property becuse one was old and the span was long when the neib built a new house. When the guy was here i asked him what he thought it would take he acted like my underground line was old and wound need replaced and would be 15 to 20k. Ya I will go solar first. Declined to have another pole I would have to mow around after he got huffy and acted like he was only asking as a courtesy and could do whatever they wanted.
I figured they wouldn't bother asking if that was the case. I must have Been right I didn't get a new pole.

I did some digging and found out from the transformer to the pole it the utilities responsibly. Hmm that green box 60' from my cabin that is 300 yards from the road is the transformer. Amazing they are required to energize the line and if it blows replace it at their cost not me paying 15 to 20k. So I got a permit paid an electrician to put a temp pannel in and when I'm ready for that project all I have to do is call the elect company.

No wonder they were so slow to give me info and the run around. But all it took was one guy being a jack wagon to motivate to did into it. Had they Been polite I would has not bothered with any further it and put in solar. But don't act like your doing me a favor asking permission to put something you need on my land and be arrogant about it.

I must be slow because I still don't know exactly what your complaint is about?

You're likely going to get sued for loss of income on the dumpster unless I'm missing something

Ok men here’s the whole story. About 2 years ago the company that was doing my trash pickup sent letters out to all of their customers in my area that said they were no longer going to run this route anymore and we needed to find another servicer for this area. Their letter listed some other providers and their phone numbers to call.
I contacted one of these companies that they recommended for trash service and they came out and set a 2 yard dumpster for me. There terms differed from the original service provider a little bit. Instead of billing me every month, they billed every 3 months and it was due from the day they set the dumpster. So that means I have to pay in full for services that I will receive in the next 3 months. They stated that they pick up on Wednesday of every week. Their charge for service was 100$ a month. This was 40$ higher than the previous company but I went with them anyway and payed for their service anyway. At the end of the first three months I received a bill for the next 3 months. This bill stated that they were raising their rates 10$ a month and I now need to pay them 330$ instead of 300$ for the next 3 months of service. Was not very happy about it but went ahead and paid it. After continuing service with them for a little over a year paying 330$ every three months for the next 3 months service, they missed a week picking my trash up. I notified them to see what the problem was. They said it was due to a new driver that missed one compleat section of the route. They said they would adjust my bill for the next three months and give me a credit for the week that was missed service. 2 weeks later I receive a bill for 330$ for the next 3 months. I sent them a check for 302.50 after deducting 27.50$ for non service for the week that they missed that had already been paid for. Wrote it out on the invoice and enclosed it with the check for 302.50$ to jog there memory. They called me 4 days later and informed me that I would not be dictating how I was going to pay for their future services and if I did not send them another check for 27.50$ they were going to cancel service and come get their dumpster.
I told them I didn’t appreciate getting lied to about the credit I was supposed to receive and the fact that they were talking to me like a dog. They then said they were sending a guy to pick the dumpster up. I told them to make sure he’s got my check that they obviously were in receipt of for 302.50$ or they ain’t getting the dumpster. And then their goons show up 3 days later while I’m mowing my yard. Walk up to the mower I’m setting on wavin his arms and running his mouth. Comes around to the side of the mower and turns the key off. He then gets in my face and says where’s the dumpster at and I said where’s my check at. It was pretty much threats of arrest from him from then on. All quiet on the western front so far today and my check must be lost in the mail.

I pay 57.50 for that size but it's picked up bi-weekly.

No prepay either, I wouldn't do that personally.
