Dave,
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who likes good music! I sure as (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) respect the effort you put in to make a single income household work and really hope that you enjoy your upcoming vacation!

Wasn't single income, we had bizarre schedules, plus side jobs.
I worked Sundays for 33 years, she worked Saturdays for 28.

Maybe we've been married so long because we never see each other, lol?

You dont need cell phones, internet, satellite tv, video games and two cars. Add in daycare cost and a lot of Moms are just paying for that stuff.

Wife and I got married we were both working. She got pregnant, had the baby, quit work and stayed home. My take home pay was about $165.00 a week. Had one car, a home and that’s about it. lol Her grandparents lived down the road a piece and if somebody wanted us they called them and they would come and get us. Just 32 years ago.

As a hospital chaplain in a Pediatric unit, I witnessed countless broken families that suffered from one core thing. And it wasn't lack of "stuff."
It was a lack of relationships. To love and be loved. It's in us all whether we say so or not.
Stuff has a short pleasure fuse and it burns out quick. Relationships aren't perfect but they sustain us. As people.

Love your family. When it's easy. When it's hard. Not one or the other. There's no such thing as a perfect other person anyway. Ask someone about "you" sometime and see what an honest answer looks like. If I ask people (and I often do) about me, I get some stinging responses for sure. And that's called honesty. Which is good.

Can't tell you how many times I counseled a parent of a child in PICU, admitted for suicide attempt, to Put. Away. Your. Phone. Right. Now. Please.

Brokenness includes the nation's infatuation with its epidemic of hyper-sexualization and all that goes with that. Perversion has a root cause but as a nation, we're fertilizing this field as never before.
So we reap what we sow. Sadly for many.
Look at the stories on this one forum day in, day out, and you get a glimpse of how difficult it is to stand against what is evil. Day in, day out.

So we keep our gaze fixed on the only One who can fix us and pray He hasn't given us over completely to our selfish desires.
Some days, it seems He has.

Blessings,
Mark

Plus, she needs work clothes, buy lunches out, Starbucks on way to work, more fuel to get to and from work....

My wife is a retired High School English Teacher and then became Principal. I worked third shift my whole life. We made it work with all of our kids. They went to Private Christian Schools and now we make sure our Grandkids do as well. They were never put in Day Care but we had Family that helped. We also helped them. Guess what people. I still do not have a cell Phone. Don't want one either.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

We had problems with daycare. THen wife quit her full time job and stayed home. Son does cca cyber school. Wife drives part time hauling special needs kids to school and our child can ride along. He still gets out to social events with other kids and has friends over alot. Its alot easier now and daycare was like a mortgage payment. Less stress now.

As a Federal LEO, you would be surprised how many female sex offenders (SO's) there are. Male SO's tend to get all the spotlight with news and longer convictions as well. Female SO's are typically get less time or get brushed under the rug all together. I've dealt with 1000's of each, and it will make you sick knowing/seeing the things they have done. Definitely changes your perspective on life and how you view the public in general.

Just this week the Maryland state attorney released a report concerning sexual abuse that has been reported in
the Baltimore Archdioceses Catholic church Going back nearly 40 years there found over 600 case of sexual abuse committed by at least 158 people associated with the church In many of those cases it was known that the situation was happening .But the misconduct was covered up by the people in charge So evil people exist every day and every where you go Our society seems to be seeking a new level of self indulgent sickness every day and in every aspect of our society.

WOW!!!! And what century are you living in……………….

I suppose you think men shouldn’t be nurses or hair stylists or secretaries or seamstresses or any other occupation that is considered “women’s work”. Wake up this is the 21st century not the Middle Ages!!!!

I do not believe youve worked with 1,000’s of female sex offenders.

“My” first born went to a daycare for about a month and the wife picked him up one day with a bite mark on his cheek. Now mind you he was only maybe two months. Well, at that point I wasn’t always a good person. After letting the daycare know my thoughts I called my wife and told her this was her last day, she could let them know or I would. Since then she didn’t go back to work until they were old enough to take care of themselves.
When CJ came along we decided that it was too much so I said you can quit or I will. She decided to be a stay at home mom again. She had talked about going back to work and then we heard we were having a grandchild so now she’s a stay at home mom and “Ganny”, lol. I wouldn’t have it any other way. My 8-4 job pays the bills, my trapping pays for fun. When we had “our” first, her paycheck was paying for daycare. If she missed a day because of a sick youngun we had to dip in my money to pay. It really wasn’t worth it.

Many children come from single parent situations and do not have a male figure in their lives. They don’t deserve a bad male however.

Males can make great babysitters. This male has taken all of his younguns and grandyounguns to work with him. They've helped run trotlines, chased after coonhounds and trapped critters.
