I used my.topo.com for years, have a bunch of their custom maps for different areas. I haven't ordered from them for a while and now it appears they are having a bunch of trouble redesigning the site, it's been under construction for over a year now.

So, what site do you guys use to create custom topos that are then printed on heavy, waterproof paper and mailed to you?

Eh...wot?

This is the one I want to replace. I’ve been carrying it in my day pack for 20+ years and it is about worn out.

Thanks West Side but I'm looking for a site that prints and sends you good quality water-resistant maps that you custom build on their site from USGS quads.

I should have looked at the My Topo and Terra Server sites before I! As it turns out I user MyTopo to get a large copy of an aerial photo of an area that we where archery hunting in W VA That was in the early 1990's Having hunted he area for several years I was slowly learning a small part of it Have that made the learning curve much easier During the same time there was company here in PA that was doing similar custom maps for hunters I do not recall the name of the company And it might be that some agency that was part of the state government I will try looking for that info tomorrow If I FIND ANYTHING i WILL LET YOU KNOW

Lugnut It appears that I only know enough to be a very little help I got my custom map out this morning and it turns out it was made by Modern Explorer Products Rough Country topos They where located in Hopwood PA PH:7244387686 I think I got it in 2000 I could not find much info on Modern Explorer Products . So I am not certain they are still in business . It seems to me my map was about $100.00 20 plus years ago .While searching the net I came across a web site for TopoZone usgs At a quick glance that site may be something that you could generate your own map of the area you are looking for Good luck

I guess nobody uses a map and compass anymore?

Anyhow I called my.topo and and talked with Paige who was very helpful. They had the information from my purchases dating back twenty-plus years. She found the map from 2001 that I wanted to replace and we were even able to re-center it via a video conference call to include the extreme south end of a timber company property I had accidentally cut off the original map.

The maps should arrive early next week.

Paige also helped me figure out how to build a custom map on their new site, I couldn't figure it out on my own...LOL
