I hate mowing. But I like the sheep and horse idea.

You can kind of see next to the mowed part a taller green area between the yard and the warm season grass where a mix of clovers are planted to make fire breaks and separator strips to section off the native prairie grass for controlled burns. The warm season grass was burned a couple weeks ago and I will tear out the bigger honeysuckle that was too big for the fire to kill. A root grapple on the front of a bobcat does it pretty fast. I will also re-seed the clover mix with a no-till drill after the threat of frost is over.

I fly radio controlled airplanes in the yard and some are kinda big. The ground outside the yard is in CRP.

That's a fact.

I'll wait a little longer before I do the first cut of the season on mine. September sounds about right.
