Olive is our most laid back chicken. She has zero respect or fear of the dogs or us and just comes in wanting some treats. She comes into the workshop trailer when I am working in there as well and I have to move her to safe spots when she gets to close to moving machinery like the lathe or grinders etc.

Dog sure seems to be giving olive a wide berth lol
Look at that spoiled chicken. Hand fed by the lady of the house!
You think it laid golden eggs with all that respect and pampering.

He loves his chickens. Sometimes we go to Tractor supply or the local COOP when they have peeps, so he can sit there and look at them. He lets them peck his nose and has the patience of a saint with them. You try and harm his chickens and he will turn your pants inside out with you in them.

Our Anatolian Shepard is like that. She will chase hawks and other critters away to protect them but other than that she has zero interest in them at all

grin A fun peaceful homestead .

My chooks were the same.

I had a huge red roo , Xerxes, who would stroll into the cabin, on in the kitchen, and stand regally in the middle of the floor, facing the fridge. Waiting for a treat .

They all loved lounging on the wood deck and porch with me in summer afternoons.

Thanks for sharing your estate happiness.

I've found a few random eggs in the house over the years, sneaky birds. I caught one trying to lay an egg in my dish drainer one day!

The eggs in my book are just a bonus. The chickens are worth more to me for their entertainment value and smiles they give us

Same here Scuba although sometimes they tend to get underfoot. Curious little critters if there ever was one.
We have 1 that walks at heel with my wife, follows her everywhere. I think they only like me for the treats they constantly are demanding.
Our meal worm bill is getting out of hand. lol

Yes meal worms and raisins drive the egg price up quite a bit. Well I give most of the eggs away anyway. We cant eat 10 eggs every day or I would have feathers growing instead of a beard
