I guess reparations makes sense to the mathematically and financially challenged. I hear numbers thrown around proposing from one to five million dollar per person. Let's figure on low end of one million. There are a little over 330,000,000 Americans, 15% of whom are black; that's about 50,000,000

50,000,000x$1,000,000 is $50,000,000,000,000 That's 50 trillion dollars. It's taken the US 100 years to get in debt 30 trillion dollars. This reparations would nearly triple that debt overnight. Where would this money come from? They would just increase the money supply and create it out of thin air.
Of course this would create hyper inflation, and would result in economic collapse.

I hope the politicians who are promoting this are just doing it to gain votes from ignorant people. I sure hope they aren't really stupid enough to think it would work.

EXACTLY!!! take their Reparations and give it back to the taxpayers that have been supporting them for Generations!!! FAIR is FAIR!!! Then I believe the American Indians were mistreated before the slaves were sold into slavery by their own people. Where are their Reparations.

I doubt very much it will be a one time payment-most likely spread out over 30 years or so.
Probably paid monthly like a basic income cheque.
They look at it as an economic stimulator.(I suspect a good chunk of it will stimulate the black market)
Those people will spend that money,not tie it up long term.
