WASHINGTON — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a new and stronger set of greenhouse gas standards for heavy-duty vehicles for model years 2027 through 2032, building from the “Phase 2” greenhouse gas standards established in 2016.

Trucker Path
The agency made the announcement on Wednesday, April 12.

These “Phase 3” greenhouse gas standards “would significantly reduce carbon emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and, through the increased use of zero-emission vehicle technology projected in the proposal, would also reduce emissions of smog and soot-forming pollutants and help to address the challenges of global climate change and air pollution in communities near major roadways,” according to an EPA news release.

Quote
Todd Spencer, president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, called it a “regulatory blitz on small-business truckers.”

“The latest proposal comes on the heels of a hurried NOx emissions rulemaking finalized in December, along with a California waiver mandating sales of electric trucks,” Spencer continued. “Today’s announcement is a blatant attempt to force consumers into purchasing electric vehicles while a national charging infrastructure network remains absent for heavy-duty commercial trucks.”

It is getting harder to deny that the Big D goal is to destroy our country. Not a peep yet from big R either. I think both parties are ran by the same people

Danny the democrats use money to gain and retain power, conversely the republicans use power to gain and retain money. Hand meet glove, we are in a governmental mess….

Did you hear that they are pushing for 2/3rds EVs by 2030?

Given that the 2024 models are already being built, that's not much time. The infrastructure to support that many EVs isn't there and won't be for a long time. The sheeple will find out how this doesn't work when rolling blackouts and general power chaos reign. And the rich will do their own thing regardless to what the peons have to deal with if the country isn't fighting itself my then 9if we're still around)...

"And God said, Let us make man in our image and let them have dominion and all the creatures that move along the ground".

If truck drivers would save up enough money so that they could go on strike for a year, or 6 months at least, they could cure this bs very quickly.

No freedom parades to the capitol, no nonsense like that, just park them.

Just park em, this country would be on its knees in a week.

true enough but then the blame would fall on the truckers Same way the blame falls on the gas station clerk for high gas prices or the farmer for high food prices
