Hi everyone, I hope it’s been a good season for you, and Mother Nature hasn’t been too tough.

I just had a text from a past attendee of Coyote Days, asking if we were having it again this year, and I realized that I hadn’t kept everyone informed.

The answer is Yes!

August 18-19, 2023, Lusk WY

I’m finishing out the demo list in next few days, and will post one soon

We’ll have a few more bobcat related demos this year, taking in to consideration the current market

But, we’ll cover Coyotes A-Z too, and with some additions, we’ll have the best demo line up possible

I’m standing on an old trap site that has fresh coyote tracks on it, so I’m going to make a few sets here

I’ll get back in later and provide some motel and campground info

Have a great day!

Thanks, John

Hahaha, I guess beavers are the new coyotes. At least there is something that has good demand.

Sorry to say, we would love to attend again this year; but, unfortunately we don't see it in the cards this year. Lots of knowledge to be gained if you can attend. Thanks John for putting this on year after year!

I plan on making it again this year. John, Nicole and their family work very hard and put on a top notch event. Besides the demo's you can visit with some of the best most knowledgeable people in our craft.

Good to hear, John. I’ll more than likely make the trip. Enjoy it too much to stay home!

Hi everyone. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to update everyone, but we've had a busy spring!

Hunting and denning coyotes, starting on making lure and bait for this season, and to top it all off, planning a wedding for our youngest daughter, that is getting married the weekend after Coyote Days!

So, I'm making use of a much needed rain day, and getting caught up on 101 things, including posting a demo list for Coyote Days 2023

August 18-19 Lusk, WY

This year, we will have a few more BOBCAT themed demos, in consideration of the favorable 'cat market. 'Predators' are our main focus, and the presenters will cover many things, from a look at lion trapping and Wolves vs Coyotes, and coyote and 'cat trapping and snaring, Coyote Calling, etc.

In other words, Predators A-Z

With the coyote market probably being such that there will be more opportunity for some 'trapper for hire' work, there is NO better place to learn than Coyote Days. ALL our demo presenters are very qualified, and are very gifted at relaying info in a manner that you will come away knowing that you've learned hard earned knowledge. Here's the demo line up for 2023:

Les Johnson- NE. Coyote Calling
Boone Liane SD. In depth look at locations
Terry Thompson- MT. Snaring
Mike Ross MT. Wolves vs Coyotes, differences and similarities
Kyle Krebs ND. Tapping/Snaring Coyotes
Brandy James OR. Snaring coyotes and Lion Trapping
Todd Fairchild CO. Bobcat fur handling
Bill Ilchik NV. Bobcat trapping
Joel Blakeslee NV. Bobcat trapping
Dan Hartman MT. Coyote Trapping
Merv Griswold, WY. Coyote with decoy dogs and ADC application
Dick Pederson WY. Time and Line management
Colt Violet WY. Fur handling
Jim Arneson MT. Coyote calling/Thermal/long range shooting
Nickie Swartz NE. ADC Coyote work
John Sullivan NV/MT/AZ Bobcat Trapping
Allan Olson SD. Bobcat trapping
Jerry Johnson WY. Wyoming State Animal Damage & Management Board
Brad Troftgruben WY. Coyotes ADC methods
Larry Bowden SD Bobcat trapping
Dale Greenough WY. Coyote ADC work
John Graham WY. Bobcat trapping/Snaring

20 DEMOS in TWO DAYS!

Plus, Friday evening Round Table discussion/Q&A , that has lasted in to late evening every year, that all the demo presenters are invited to be part of. This alone is an opportunity to learn so much that could put you light years ahead of where you are currently at with valuable applicable information.

AUGUST 18-19 2023 Niobrara Co. Fairgrounds, Lusk, WY.

There will be food concessions daily, from 6a.m., until 5 p.m., in main building

$10 entrance fee, for entire weekend

Saturday Night Banquet will feature Mike Wilhite as speaker
Fur Fashion Show
Steak BBQ dinner
Raffles
Live Auction
$25/person

Limited hookups for power on grounds, but UNLIMITED tent camping available, on north end of fairgrounds

Motels- (all very close)

RAWHIDE MOTEL- (307) 340-0642
Pioneer Best Western (307) 334-2640
TOWNHOUSE MOTEL (307) 334-2376
Covered Wagon Hotel (307) 334-2836

CAMPGROUNDS

B.J.'s Campground (307) 334-2314
Prairie View (307) 334-3174
Lone Pine Campground (307) 216-0148 (this is the closest)

Both days, Friday August 18th and Saturday August 19th, Doors at main building at south end of fairgrounds will open a 6 a.m., with coffee and breakfast available.

7:45 a.m., LIVE National Anthem outside in demo area

8 a.m. DEMOS start, and will continue hourly throughout the day until 6 P.M.

Building closes at 6 p.m.

Both days filled with top demos, and NO filler.

It has become common practice for attendees to arrive on Thursday evening to be on site for the Friday morning demos.

If you are interested in Coyotes, Bobcats, and Predators in general, this is THE place to be!

For more info: John or Nicole Graham (307) 334-9930

Thanks, and I hope to see you all there.

John

I’m not much into coyote and bobcat trapping but I would be interested in attending your daughters event the following weekend.

Not sure I’ve ever been to some ones weeding.

LOL

More than happy to help.

I don’t get out and about much these days and so I have plenty of time to nit pick about grammar and spelling. Keeps my brain from getting rusty. LOL

Great line up John. I don't take in a lot of demos any more but I'll for sure make it a point to listen to John Sullivan.

Thanks, Steven, and yes, I agree with you

Having John Sullivan come and be part of Coyote Days this year will be a great addition

John has made huge catches in several areas and states, and is a very nice guy.

That Brandy feller may be a bit sketchy though.

Well unless lions are an interest to anyone. He's got the boots on the ground and miles behind him.

Great additions of new presenters.

Right at 3 months until this happens, not only the best 48 hours of predator instruction available. The friends and comradery are un-matched. Plus Fridays dinner is top notch!!

I could use a few more of his good basswood ‘cat stretchers too!

I'm thinking about making the trip this year to see if that Liane and Krebs fellers know what they speak of and maybe get a taste of Lee's brew.

Things are shaping up nicely, and plans are coming together on topics on the demos. The fact that we’ve decided to include more bobcat themed demos has made a lot of potential new attendees decide to make the trip to WY in August

It’s a little less than 3 months away now, and then for many people, the fur season kicks off right after

Coyote Days 2023 will be a great educational venue and motivator for the fall.

If you are thirsty for knowledge on PREDATORS, this is THE place to be!

Have a good day, John
