We have a county drain that flows through our property. I was walking it today picking up litter (we recently had heavy rains with high winds and everything ends up in the ditch!). While cleaning up i found these along the ditch bank. Clearly has part of the skull so not a shed. Guessing the rest has been eaten or washed away. Guessing pretty old as they are very light/not dense. Never know what you will find walking in nature!

Boggy soils/runoff through them can turn the color of bone pretty quick. But anaerobic condition can also slow down decomposition elements so yeah, hard to know how old they might be. Neat find.
