ADC's cool post about his hulk of a son got me thinking.

A lot of time is spent complaining about the younger generations, schools, laziness, video games, etc. The complaints overshadow the accomplishments of some really awesome kids all across this country--and Canada.

I'm lucky to have four great kids--not perfect, but I'm proud of them. I'll focus on my oldest son because we hung out all day.

My almost 16 year old son is my hunting and trapping partner. He is a hard worker, good to his mother, a straight A student, really good wrestler, studies kickboxing and Jui Jitsu and helps his old Dad around the farm. He is likely headed to the Naval Academy--if he gets in.

We spent today shooting and are now in the shop sorting brass and cleaning guns.

My great granddaughter is the sunshine in my life. She just turned 7 and loves to go fishing with Papa Dale

She also helped make her unicorn birthday cake

Our Oldest son graduated from our alma Matter Carroll College and is now an engineer at Harley Davidson in Milwaukee. He still loves to hunt and Fish and takes his daughter , Our Granddaughter out on Lake Michigan charters and now has her getting involved in Fly Fishing. Our Daughter is an OR Nurse and pregnant with our Grandson. Can't wait to get him in the Pack Basket!!!

Back on Good Friday I took a few goats to a local flea market. Of course all the kids that came through loved them and asked if they were boys or girls. One little girl told me if you had a boy goat and a girl goat you could get baby goats. It was amazing, non of those kids seemed "confused".

I am proud of all my kids and grandkids. My youngest went down a bad road for awhile but she is back on the pavement now.

My son.. scholar, christian spoke in front of 300 today at church did awesome. Accepted in mensa, in the highest test scores in usa... All around wonderful kid... Im blessed

I'm proud of all the kids that are taking firearm training again this session. I'm especially happy to see the number of girls we get each session.

Great idea for a thread. Got three kids, all good productive people and the youngest two own and operate their own traplines. Got three grandkids, one 6 and the other two are under a year old. The 6 year old grandson has spent more time in wild places than most adults.

There's a lot of good kids out there yet.
The best are those that grow up away from cities.
Parents teach them the ways of life a lot more than city people do.
I know there's some that come from the city , just pointing out those that didn't grow up in the country , have no idea about true freedom.
When they move to the country , first thing they do is post their property , and think everyone's property next to them , is free to trespass on.
To them it's like the city park , or county /state land , free to do as they please.
Just totally no idea of real life.
Just like they want to shut down farms because the animals smell.

Blaine County- Congrats on having a really good kid. I wouldn't expect anything less because you seem to be a very involved dad. Good luck to him in getting into Annapolis, a very selective place as you already know.

What was the carbine he was shooting in the photo...?.

Our kids have grown up out in the bush hunting, fishing, trapping, etc. etc. we do everything as a family unit and work together to get things done. We homeschool so I know what my kids are being taught. Since they've grown up out in the bush they've had to learn to be creative by making their own toys, creating their own games, and fixing their own gear. There are good kids out there you just never hear about them...................................

A photo my kid took while their Army unit was in the foothills of the Himalayas last fall hanging out with the Indian army. He gets to see some pretty wild scenery...

Thanks. He goes to wrestling camps there in the summer and really wants it. I'm taking him to see West Point this summer after I pick him up in Annapolis. He'll probably apply to both.

One of my students took the ACT twice and scored perfect 36 on both.

My grandson is about to break the freshman pole vault record in our conference. He is a good wing shot also.
