I did my taxes in Febuary. Wanted to get them paid and be done for a year. Then last month property tax hit. There is no end to it. Tax upon tax upon tax. I like paved roads public schools LE and Fire depts. I wish the military was still heavily dependant on militia. Focused on defending our country and not running all over the world minding other peoples business.

I had to write out a check today for an additional $10K. It it were going for a good cause it might be a little easier to justify, but knowing that a percentage of it will be going to pay for someone's sex change operation or something as similarly insane is a little hard to stomach.

my wife writes the checks for utility bills. i aint tough enough. i just look at the balance once in awhile and try not to think much on what was deposited.

I had a friend call me the other day to see what I was up to. I told him I was on the way to town to fund two or three illegal immigrants and a transvestite . He was a little shocked until I told him I was going to pay my taxes.
I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

Just finished ours. You guys are funny. You aint seen taxes until you've seen ours...The one that bugs me the most is the carbon tax. We buy a lot of fuel to run our business and they charge us GST on the carbon tax. Thats a tax on a tax...
As a side note I switched from quickbooks this year. Am now using Pro Ledger. Anyone looking for a simple solution, this is it.

Taxes suck!
Hours and hours, I spend putting all the numbers together for my accountant to file. Four businesses plus personal. In the end, because I am such a looser, I pay little to no Federal, or state income tax, and only a nominal amount of Social Security (Self Employment) tax.
Still, a huge pain playing the game by their rules
.

Anyone else putting the finishing touches on their tax returns? I am working on mine this afternoon.
I am not saying I am going to do it, but every year I am reminded why people want to blow up IRS buildings, have shoot outs with IRS agents or just go to prison for not paying taxes.
Tax season also has my most racist days of the year. I don't know if I can technically be racist against dead beat whites, but if I can be they are definitely included too. Everyone else is--including Asians the last couple of years because of Covid and all of the money we wasted on it.
When I am done I will do my annual calculation of what exactly I got for my tax dollars. The answer will be the same as when I started working in 1988. Not much of anything.
Thank you for letting me vent. It kept me from yelling at my wife and accountant, again, for things that are not really their fault. There is a very legitimate reason that honest hard working people fly planes into the IRS building in Austin or manufacture a bulldozer to take out corrupt government; even if local. The system is F'ed, and decent hard working people are getting their eyeballs screwed out. Anyone that works for themselves knows this.

Not only evil in robbing us, but it helps balance those POS wasteful spending on the working mans dime. Not only evil, but also blatant theft IMO!

What needs to happen ASAP, is every single person that pays FICO taxes needs to do it as all of us 1099 guys.
Don't allow the business that they are employed by take taxes out prematurely so the govt can use that money and no interest paid. It is a scandal.
If everyone in America had to pay taxes like us 1099 folks at the end of the year, I guarantee that heads would roll in Washington. Whole thing is a racket. Ticks me off!
