Anyone else putting the finishing touches on their tax returns? I am working on mine this afternoon.

I am not saying I am going to do it, but every year I am reminded why people want to blow up IRS buildings, have shoot outs with IRS agents or just go to prison for not paying taxes.

Tax season also has my most racist days of the year. I don't know if I can technically be racist against dead beat whites, but if I can be they are definitely included too. Everyone else is--including Asians the last couple of years because of Covid and all of the money we wasted on it.

When I am done I will do my annual calculation of what exactly I got for my tax dollars. The answer will be the same as when I started working in 1988. Not much of anything.

Thank you for letting me vent. It kept me from yelling at my wife and accountant, again, for things that are not really their fault.

I have to listen to classical music when I am doing mine. I have my blood pressure meds set up in an IV drip next to my desk.

I'm glad you weighed in on this. It makes me feel better.

And, I'm glad there are profanity rules on Tman. Otherwise, my post would have been nothing but cuss words.

I thought you felt we should only post positive things on Tman? You just wrecked my day! wink laugh

I thought about the awesome kid posts as I was breaking my keyboard banging out my tax post. And, I never said only positive......just about our kids!

I am intentionally avoiding certain people and posts this afternoon and probably tomorrow. I don't want to take out my always present, but currently escalated, hatred of the Feds on a fellow Tman member.

I really stink at farming - only thing that helps me some. If you are successful today, you have to have some sort of deductible expenses otherwise they will take your success away in taxes.

IF we had to pay our taxes, in cash, once a week, or even month, there'd have been a violent uprising decades ago...

That's been the plan ever since they instituted capital gains taxes.

Economic liberty begets political liberty.

Can't allow that to happen.

Cash business will become much more common in the coming years for many who can do it. With the taxes they hit us with, the self-employed folks are going to get hit worse every year.

The system is setup so the average American CAN'T succeed. As treedablackdog said,"if you succeed they will take it away in taxes". There is more truth to that one statement than you can imagine.

I did mine last week. As usual, my wife departed the house for the day. She learned a lot of years ago that I'm much easier to get along with when doing taxes if she's not here. It takes me all day, and she has a great day getting her nails done and other such lady stuff.

Same here Paul. Wife always leaves the house when I do em. And like I always say, if they see you make a dollar then 11 different agencies each want a dime.

Imagine if they had funded the 87,000 new irs agents and the banks had to report anyone with $600 or more in annual transactions to the irs eek

Starting working on mine last week, got it in the mail Saturday, very stressful.

I thought things were supposed to be simplified in 2018 with just one 1040 form. Yeah right, the 1040 plus Schedule 1, Schedule 2, Schedule C, Schedule SE and a few more I'm forgetting at the moment. All times two for separate business entities. SMH

Eh...wot?

I just apologized to the wife (the CFO of the Farm and side business) and accountant.

I don't want the wife to poison me when I get home from work.

My wife has a degree in accounting and does our taxes. She tells me what she needs from me and I leave the house while she does the taxes.

Taxes suck yet they are what they are. Why get worked up?

It gets worse, wait until the children are gone.

I think I'm going to start an ice fishing guide service and lose a ton of money or 5 years.
