I am in the south, the garden is doing good but these darn Hail storms are a pain in the butt this year. With my luck we have had 3 at the garden so far this year. the first 2 were miner and did not hurt anything. The last one was about quarter size and did a number on some of the tomato plants. Most are ok but it broke the tops out of some of them and that will cause some production loss.

From 90 degrees to this so I’m thinking it’s a little early.Should probably grab that asparagus though.

It'll be another 5 or 6 weeks. Memorial Day is a good place holder

I still have most of my plants in the greenhouse. We have frost predicted this weekend. Soil isn't really warm enough in my opinion. Still gets down in the mid-low 40* some days. I'd hate to plant now and lose it all.

You're in Illinois and you already have corn in the ground? Wow!

Still too cold in the mornings for me to transplant everything into the garden. I usually try to have everything in the ground during the first week of May. Too many very late frosts the last few years.

Potatoes and onions will go in at the end of April.

Everything else waits until Memorial Day.

no gambling here , have not planted a thing ,was 85 last week and 31 with blowing snow Monday 40-50 and windy today

if I start gambling it won't be till May

April is a loosing bet here but May 5 starts to look very possible May 10 is typical frost free date

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Some stuff is in. Asparagus , onions, strawberries and some other things. Beans are going in this weekend and corn in a couple of weeks, thats when the missus will get into gear with the rest of the stuff as well I think.

Let's go Brandon

Had a frost this morning in Hagerstown. Cold weather stuff is in, peas and lettuce is up. Asparagus, 4 and 5 year old plants are just now starting to pop up. Had me worried and some still does. Has never been this late in coming up. Hope i didn't put some "hot" mulch on it and kill it. I'll wait till mid May for tomatoes and things of that nature. Did have the first hummingbird of the year show up at the feeder yesterday.

Snow is mostly gone now here, but raining today and tomorrow. I put a lot of composte on my gardens last year and that is keeping the soil really wet so it will be a later planing for me this year. Probably not all bad as I have a tendency to rush things a bit.
