Looking at getting a zero turn Mavrick from them. They seem like a nice American made machine, but can’t find much on them. Any body have one? Wondering if they are holding up, that’s a lot of money for a darn mower.

I know a guy who likes his. Like most things with a motor is there is a dealer close and how are they to deal with.

Yep, buying from a dealer not a tractor supply. Stopped and talked to the owner, really nice and has been in business for 20 years.

We have multiple of both Hustler and Bad boy mowers on the farm. The Hustler mowers have outlasted the Bad Boys 2:1. Wife mows our 5 acre yard with the Hustler I bought her in 2006. I’ve changed the oil and greased it every spring and called it good.

Everything the left touches it destroys

Great feedback! What doesn’t last on the mowers?

Neighbor has had one for a few years and has had to put bearings in it....deck spindle bearings if I recall correctly. He doesn't have a large yard, premature wear in my opinion. He does seem to like the machine.

I knew a guy that had a grasshopper and then got a bad boy and returned it after mowing the first time with it. Something about grasshopper had independent hydraulic pumps for each drive side. Something that came into play when mowing a hill and being unlevel and then not being able to hold it straight. I forget exactly sorry.

put 750 + hrs on a 60 inch bad boy. 24 or 26 HP. Replaced the belt a few times, replaced one spindle bearing and did other maintenance. Mowed almost 5 acres, all of it on a hill. Wish I had bought another one when I decided to get a new one. I bought a gravely and it is ok, but not as good as the bad boy IMO.

Spindle bearings have worn out on our hustler 54" mower deck too. No experience with bad boy. Just get whatever your trustworthy local dealer recommends.

Black dogs the bad boys we have are just chronics. They are just not built like the hustlers we have. I’d keep doing research and make sure Hustler hasn’t cheapened things up and or building junk nowadays

Have you looked at Scag? I’ve got 6000+ hours on them commercially and highly recommend them.

I have a 22-year-old 72" Exmark still going strong. Changed the belt last year for the first time. Mow about 8 acres, put the striping kit on it, makes the yard look great.

I bought a Hustler in 2015. Normal maintenance and a starter solenoid are all it has needed. It even has the original battery.

Here in north Arkansas (where they are based) almost every used car lot has a row of them parked out front. I always wonder where they have to take their machines for any warranty work. I looked at one of their tractors that was parked in front of the feed store. Looked incredibly flimsy for a tractor. They seem to be more a status symbol for the guys with jacked up trucks than serious commercial machinery.
