Just wondering if any of you ever were members of this greek fraternity with the non-greek name. It started out at the U of Missouri as a club for Ag majors who were looked down upon by the "academics" as just farm boys.

Went to school where there was a Farm House Frat. (U of Idaho) and they seemed like good hands. However I was a GDI, Thot-I-Felta-Thigh, or Tappa-Kega-Bud.

Ours was Tappa Kegga Bru.

I never heard of the Farm House Fraternity.

I live right across the road from Farm House at Oklahoma State University. Never had any interaction with any of them but I did run a dressed out gobbler up their flagpole one weekend. Stayed there until Monday morning.

I have heard of Farm House but never met any alums. I was a member of a Greek named ag fraternity at UW Madison. We did most of the cleaning, all the meal work but the cooking, cut up our own meat and brought many veggies to the frat from the home farms. We were able to be one of the lowest cost housing places on campus. We had 40-45 in our house in the 60s. Now the numbers are a fraction of that.

My next youngest brother was in a different fraternity. He dumped an entire bottle of fox urine, all over, in a rival fraternities' game and social room, causing then to have to replace all their upholstered furniture and carpet.

The founding fathers were Christian and leaned to the conservative side of things. Our chapter was the only dry house on campus in the Greek system so we were teased mercilessly about it. I thought it was great; we had enforced study/quiet hours and it was easy to get help on difficult classes from upperclassmen. We were always among the highest for grade point average on campus.

I learned to get along with people from a lot of different backgrounds and beliefs. (Served me well for getting along with you mutts)!

We also did a lot of our own cooking and all the other household chores. Room and board in 1975 was $130 month.

And they had the good sense not to let me join!

I graduated from Watsa-Matta-U. Anytime I screwed up my ole man would crack me on the back of the head and say Watsamattau? It was a one man fraternity.I was the only member.

Toughest guy I’ve ever known was a farmhouse alum from the early 80s. He had some wild stories from those days. He died in a plane crash a couple years ago, his family gave me his deer rifle and a shotgun as his sons do not hunt. Gone too soon.

No it was Delta Theta Sigma, there are only 5-6 chapters in the USA. That is very small in comparison to AGR which has dozens of chapters. At Madison we had Babcock House which was a non chartered agriculture house and was always filled as well. We also had what we called the farm short course which was a 3 semester per year at about 5 weeks per semester designed for students who were involved more in farming as the course was basically from November to the end of March. Several short course students went two years and then decided to do the long course. They did get some advanced credits for their two years of short course. I don't recall the number of credits. That program either has just closed or is about to.
