So if I quit paying bills on time run up a couple credit cards, how low does my score need to get to be eligable for uncle sugar to pay a mortgage? I will go back in debt if it will pay out.

Credit score is a joke as it is. The formula they use isn't really fair to all people.

In the mid-2000s, i had a cable installer working at my new home. He had to leave early to go to a loan closing. He was getting a loan at 110% of his appraised value. This was in the days of credit default swaps that brought us to our knees

Back then I was framing houses. Went ten years never missed a day of work we were slinging them up so fast. My builders kept trying to hand me the keys no money down. Told them they were crazy and they would end up holding the bag.

You don't have to do a bankruptcy to knock your credit down. You could just spend enough on your credit cards for that period purchasing items, to reduce your available credit, lowering your rating. You could then return any unnecessary items after you get the loan.
