I am Diabetic and besides Insulin I take Gabapentin for the circulation in my arms and legs. It is called Nueropathy and most Diabetics have issues with it. Yesterday I found out that I can no longer get my 3 month supply because WV has just decided it is a Controlled Substance and a Narcotic right up there with Pain Pills. Guess what that did to the price of it as well. X 4. When I talked to the Pharmacist about it he claims that Drug abusers are shoving it up their Rectum to get a high from it!!!!! WHAT SICK PIECE OF CRAP FIGURED THAT OUT!!!!~??? The only thing that I can say is we have some troubled people out there!!!
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I have been able to avoid the drug for now , compression socks have helped a lot , my legs ache if I don't wear them, with them and making sure to get a decent amount of walking in my legs do very well. I stand around 10-12 hours a day some days more by choice it is much better for my back than sitting was I haven't had a chair at my desk in 13-14 years if your not wearing them it is worth a try my dad who has had a few blood clots recommended these to me , actually my mom called me after my blood clot and said this is what your dad found works the best for him after the blood clots , and they helped me a bunch with my knee replacements , order yourself a pair you will need the XL 20-30hg so I did now I have a pair for every day of the week , I was just wearing one on my blood clot leg , found standing all day both legs felt better if I wore both of them dad is a 12 shoe and I am a 15 wide so that gives you an idea of what size range XL fits https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...1?smid=A1V4R473SELIW7&th=1&psc=1I wear thick boot socks over them and size my shoes for that combination https://foxsox.com/products/wick-dryr-outlander-heavyweight-mid-calf-boot?variant=31529265987627I found for now the best place to get the fox river socks is order them through the Shoe Box in Black earth , for 5 more dollars they ship them 6 pair at a time they are 11 dollars a pair.

I had a spinal cord injection in 1999. The doctor got lidocaine into my spinal cord which short circuited the nerves in my left arm. I was taking the drug for it but gradually weaned myself off it and don't take anything now. I never liked taking it. I still get pain in my left arm, but nothing I can't live with.
I was told it can be used in making meth. That's probably why they say it's a narcotic.
Diapers and most politicians should be changed often both for the same reason.

There are many side effects to suffer when on gabapentin.
Doctors suspect it caused my many bouts with Angio Edema so I stopped taking it as well.
It was really the only pain killing drug left for us sufferers of chronic pain due to the druggies abusing the other prescription pain killers.
Now the druggies have found a way to get this drug banned for use by legitimate pain sufferers just so they can get their recreational high.
Far as I'm concerned these recreational druggies who abuse prescription pain killers when caught should be sentenced to be euthanized immediately.
That might help to put a stop to it and help clean up the scourge of druggies on the streets.
Mandatory Death sentences for the pushers & sellers as well.

After my accident in 2017 I have severe Nueropathy in my right leg and foot. I was on Gabby for a few years but it wasn't helping, Dr finally gave me Lyrica which helped a great deal, and finally added Effexor as well and now it is under control. So nice to not get the shocks, itches, pins and needles, crushing I used ot get.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure

Just so you know, some states do not list it as a Narcotic. Just found out today that Ohio does not and neither does Indiana. But the thing that troubles me the most is idiots who use it anally to get high. WHO FIGURED THAT ONE OUT??? I could just imagine little Johnny going to school and asked what he wants to do for a living?? Does he tell them he is going to shove things up there to figure out what it will do?? Some people need severe Mental Help. It helps my leg tingling especially after wearing 23 pound mining Boots for long periods of time. But now that it is a Narcotic in WV the price jumped 4X. Sounds like a scam to me.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Gabapentin is the generic of Neurontin. Mayo Clinic had me taking 800 mgs a day at first. It doesn't make you high like dizzy or in a stupor, anything like that. But, it does take nerve pain away. It was about 6 months ago that I stopped taking it. One of the side effects long term they are still studying is memory loss.

I been saying that all along. They take hard stuff for recreational use and my dr tells me to take Tylenol.

Gabapentin is not currently controlled under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.
Gabapentin is not a narcotic. It's not classified as a controlled substance in most states. (Kentucky, West Virginia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia have reclassified gabapentin as a Schedule V controlled substance). Gabapentin is not an opioid.

Gabapentin is structurally and pharmacologically related to pregabalin (Lyrica, Lyrica CR), which is a Schedule V drug and controlled federally in all states. Dec 5, 2022
