If you take a 55 gallon barrel with no bottom and put it over the stump and fill it up with limbs and wood..... will it burn the stump out?

Dealing with pine and ash that have been dead 5 years.

Ive done it a few times and works great, keep the fire going for a good day and it will burn it all out. I prefer that over stump grinding personally

You can add some charcoal to that too or coal if it is available. We even had a pipe and forced air in a hole we dug under the stump.....jk

I ground 46 stumps for a guy on Saturday that had 10/12 stumps done that way over the last year. He laughed when I left in 3 hours.
