So far, all I’m seeing is we need to be concerned with people.
You should take the time to educate yourself about. Plenty of information about how it works out there if you are truly interested about it. Don't think a trapping forum is the best place to learn about its potential or how it works. At best you might the 50,000 foot view of it on here.

AI is already in use and here to stay, once it gets away from human control it will destroy the world, there will be no stopping it, right now there is still human watch over it, but the Algorithms are in place for "natural growth", what a way to describe this entity, one of man's worst births of new discovery next to the Cell Phone !!
Any one not believing or trying to understand its growth, is going to be left behind to a dismal life of hide and seek !!
What do you mean by( left behind )? To a dissolve life of hide and seek? I'm just wondering wouldn't every one be in hiding? Rich
G Sage, at first AI will need human help, then as it gets more and more on it's own, people will not be necessary to it's movement or growth, this is when or just before that people will realize the mistake that was made to even mess with it and believe that they can control it !
People will try to distance them selves from being caught by AI, either to be used, enslaved or taken out as a threat !
This all sounds real Sci-Fi I know, however any one with any computer background and electrical knowledge, already know the threat AI can cause, it is here already in limited use, you can see it in companies that produce large staples of products as well in the health industries and hospitals, which really it should never be in the health areas of humans, there is way to much area there to learn for control and dispatch of humans !
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !
I seen a track hoe knock down some power lines by accident. Seen power poles knocked down by accident too. See a track hoe dig up and bust buried cables as well. I am not real concerned about skynet
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
Why am I still having to charge my phone and wind my watch?
It will have robots for that. Wireless up links and robots to fix the robots. Have you not seen some of the automated things in factories the last 20 years?
AK steel has had overhead Crain's that pick up coils off self driving coil cars and places them in the warehouse since that plan in my area was built. No human required. It's old tec and very much more advanced now.
My opinion is the biggest threat is how AI could control the majority of the population and they wouldn't even know it. Or identify and control individuals that would do things that AI wanted them to do for a desired outcome. People in general are followers and very advanced AI would have the ability to lead the masses willing to a desired outcome based of off trillions of pieces of input data. When it gets smart enough to start " writing its own programs" so to speak we won't be able to stay ahead of it. But the interesting part is the way it will influence and control people is we wouldn't even realize it's AI at work, especially at the beginning. It will have the ability to predict the overall reaction from society to events and information it puts out and will have the upper hand. But on the most basic level, it would be like playing poke with someone that knew your hand, what you are thinking, knew what the next card was and could even control what next card was. One of the most immediate threat would be the area of finance. And money is power. The treat in my opinion isn't being replaced or destroyed by robots but the power and control it will gain. And as far as influencing, controlling and manipulating elections, civil unrest, and populations it will make the CIA look like preschoolers if they aren't using it already.
The whole premise is people are easier to control and manipulate than we want to believe. Just look at covid, which may have been a global test run for AI to gather information and test its accuracy at predicting societal reactions. Some people like Hitler got masses to do some unbelievable stuff through largely manipulation and AI will be much smarter by a long ways.
So, last Sunday at church, a 15 year old guy gave a little talk about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was a very accurate and orthodox presentation. He is a smart kid, yet I was a little suspicious. I asked him later, "Vanya (Ivan), was that entirely your own words"? He admitted to me that he had a little help from ChatGPT.
Later that evening I was at his 14 year old cousins house visiting with the folks. Artem, his cousin, was at the computer working on homework. We started talking about ChatGTP. He told me about it's capabilities. I said to him; "have it write me a paper about"; "the extraction of gold from arsenical gold ores". This is a pretty technical subject about which I am quite familiar.
It instantly wrote me a very in depth and technically accurate paper. I was shocked.
These kids write papers for class, them submit them to a completely different App that helps them alter the paper so that it will evade plagiarism detectors that are used by their teachers.
I don't know how I feel about this? Part of me is a little proud of them, in that these kids are quite clever. Yet at the same time, I'm more than a little concerned about where this is headed.
Where we would lose control is first we won't know it's AI that's controlling the events and when it gets smart enough to "write its own program or logic" and someone or group of someone's task it with a "job" and it starts moving towards that desired outcome, It will be able see its own weaknesses and put safeties in to secure its own success. Here's a simple scenario, say it realizes a certain person is a threat to stopping it in some way, it can use a mentally ill person it has already identified and groomed to take that person out or multiple persons to insure sucess. Or implement some kind of smear campaign or use planted digital evidence to either have that person arrested or de legitimize that persons influence. As I said before it would be like the CIA x at least a thousand.
The secret though is the masses not knowing it's AI doing it, and it's ability to analyze some much information that it can accurately predict and cause desired outcomes. Even when it would fail it would learn from it's mistakes at scary fast pace and be that much smarter at it's next move.

I doubt we are even seeing the tip of the iceberg of what it can or potentially can do. The more we intact with it through technology the smarter it gets. And any time we use technology we are interacting with it.
