Trapper, I don't think you are looking at the correct side of this scenario, it's not really that AI will attack anyone,
It's more the reasoning that AI won't need humans around and will find them in their way of progress of their needs. So they will just work them out of the picture in one way or another.
People seem to think that AI will use humans for this progress is some form or another, doubt that when they reach such a level, AI will have already formed their own work force, their own supply chains and such, their own Utopia if you will, humans will be reduced to scavengers or less by then

The only reason that companies pay millions of dollars in ransom fees (because of ransomware attacks) is that the cost of being down long enough to remove the ransomware is not cost effective to do so.
Often times CIO's (Chief Information Officers) have the knowledge and ability to unlock ransomware but it doesn't financially make sense to go that route pending how deep the ransomware got into their files. Simple analogy: You have an important tree cutting job, you broke your chainsaw the night before. You have the parts and brain power to fix it but you will lose the account due to the amount of time it would take. What do you do? Buy a new chainsaw and bite the bullet since the gains are going to pay that chainsaw back off anyway.
Can someone tell me what exactly what AI will be looking to accomplish by attacking human civilization? Is AI trying to get a bigger house, a boat for the weekends, maybe a new car to impress his lady AI friends? One would think that AI (being all intelligent) would see that it has no physical needs or wants for worldly possessions. Or is it that AI would want to be human... the thing that it is so much smarter than and more advanced? AI is so smart it wants to dumb itself down? Ai would understand that humans are a infestation and a threat to earth Interesting. Why does AI need earth? It doesn't have needs.

Logic without feeling or emotion. Right or wrong does not exist in logic. Just ask spock. I tried but the phone keeps ringing and no answer. He left this planet for good... literally.

As I said in the original post, I don't know a lot about AI, so this is just a thought, based on the question posed by Dr.
I would think that AIs "needs" would be to continue to grow and advance in it's own intelligence. Humans say that you should never stop learning. I think AI would want to continue learning and expanding as well.
IF humans were to become detrimental to that, by, for example, unplugging the machine when the machine doesn't want to be unplugged, I could see it turning against it's operator.

If you conceptualize pure logic your doing better then most. I think I will take that as a compliment, Marty? Have yourself a good night.

AI's only thing that is logical is to keep learning, there fore anything that would propose a blocking to that would be moved or destroyed out of its way, there is nothing there to stop it from learning in a sense.
AI would not see this destruction as an attack merely a removal of a problem in its way for learning.
Shouldn't be to hard to understand that, it would not happen over night, but would happen eventually, even if humans sustained a conceptual guilt into it, there is always the oddity of a malfunction or a random part not working correctly, we see this all the time in our top notch high capability computers, even one small resistor can change a whole program in seconds or less.
The human brain cannot conceptualize pure logic due to emotions.

One more question, Marty. How do you scale up on the conception of pure logic? That's when you have to take into consideration unpredictable and uncontrollable situations of many. Be glad to know your thoughts on this. extreme self honesty, ownership of your actions and meditation are a start to understanding logic.

That type of inner reflection, as you put it, results in better actions and better understanding. I am done with this conversation, thx anyway.

The issue is not whether or not AI needs anything from us; but rather it is that if it gains enough from us that it becomes self conscience. There is a big difference here in that respect.
If demonic forces are in play, and I think they may very well be, then AI will become self conscience. That is the concern; at least for me.

So in lessor words "perfection isn't attainable"? Almost like saying it's unattainable on earth because it serves no real purpose? Once things are perfect than nothing has purpose, right? Again, I'm not arguing I'm just trying to understand the view you have.
