Found some old wrenchs at my Grandparents place, wondering what they were originally used for?

Pig Castators! I think they were just an open end wrench with several different sizes all on one handle.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I'll bet they came along with a new vehicle as an owner's multi tool. Maybe one of the Model A's or T's?

Ford used to send tools to do water pump repairs back in the day. There were many tools made specifically for make and model.

The square nuts were actually called "Burrs".

Before the invention of the adjustable knuckle breaker, those were used to round off nuts and bolt heads.

The ones with the square were for plum bears ( todays pipe technicians ) , so they could loose more than one tool at once.

Also sold with buggy’s and wagons back before cars, theres a guy up by Garrison Mn that has a whole side wall filled with those wrench’s and can tell you exactly what each was used for, he also rebuilds horse drawn wagons and buggies, used to see him all the time at auctions and he would buy every one of those he could

Square nuts were the norm on horse drawn farm implements. And lock washers and nylock nuts weren't. Hence the need to always have wrench on hand.
