And does it work if you are left handed and right eyed?

I am looking at the 43x, so if you shoot one those any options you have would be great.

what are you looking at for an optic ?

I personally don't shoot optic on my Personal Defense pistols

my son competes in Carry Optics with a G34 and runs an RMR I have run his gun in practice and I can shoot it

you want the dot mounted as low as possible so that your draw your basically looking at your sights but there is a red dot hovering on the front one

For a optic I was look at the Shield RMSC.

I have a Trijicon on my scout rifle. I always shoot with both eyes open with that firearm.
I shoot rifle right handed and pistol left.

I never had optics before on a pistol. I have always been a point shooter with good accuracy.
I was thinking a dot sight would have its place in a offensive situation. Better shot placement from a longer distance.

I believe that when I carry, it is for the protection of myself as well as others.

if you can rent one that would be great if not , buy and try , it has guys running carry optics running open class speeds.

they also can be used on rifles for auxiliary dots , mounted over the scope or on a 45 so you can go near far in a heart beat

it is a quality dot , so even if you find you don't like it you should be able to sell it for little loss.
