Tough situation you south guys are having for sure.
Here, it's to wet and farmers are having a hard time getting in.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

If we don't get more than a half an inch in the next couple of days we are going to start swathing all our wheat. It's not going to make much hay but it going to be something. Had crop adjuster out today has the potential to make anywhere from 15 to 30 if we started getting good moisture from here until it's done but that isn't looking likely. It's going down hill fast. Ponds are going dry, pastures aren't looking good. No alfalfa to cut or brome. Worst I've seen it here this time of year in my life. Gets worse south and west of us. There is already wheat being baled up around here. Corn stands are hit an miss. Pastures are yellow. Sucks

I watched a sale today that 5-7 year old pairs with 260 lb. calves on there side were going for $1700 to $1800 a pair. Most of the pairs that I've seen sell around here the last couple weeks have been selling for $1.10 to $1.25 a lb. pair weight. Most everything is heading to Missouri out of the local sale barn. The rest are going to the Dakota's.
It's your story, tell it how you want me to believe it

When I see a thread like this, I think about a forester I worked with years ago. He had a second degree in meteorology He had a weather station at his home, and was an official reporting station. Anyway, we were talking about a drought situation in the south, while flooding was occurring in the north. He said, "not a year goes by without some part of the country suffering a weather catastrophe."

I am sure sorry to hear that this hasn't turned around for yall. The Flint Hills and all or the range land is one of my favorite places to be.
Are the the northern OK wheat grazing areas dry too?

dump trucking is going good here. all kinds of construction going on. everything goes in cycles. another couple years and drivers will sit more days than drive again. fuel prices are not good but road taxed diesel was 3.19 yesterday. ( with mudflap)

Saw our neighbor farmer run his pivot full cycle on corn that was only up about 2”. Very early to run a pivot, earliest I’d seen that done. Sure perked up the corn the next couple days but wow talk about piling on the expense to his production. Jim
