My grandmother incubated eggs in a kerosene powered incubator.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Next time, take any eggs that didn't pip and put them in 106F water. Eggs with live live chicks will rock vigorously, because chicks kick to tell the hen they are to warm. Put the eggs that rock back in the incubator and they should hatch in less than an hour. The heat invigorates the chicks and the water loosens them from the shell membrane, so they can turn and pip out. You'll get a lot better hatch rate doing this.

I have about 3300 quail chicks, 300 chicken chicks and 350 guinea keets growing out in brooders right now. I have 3 completely full cabinet incubators going and need to get 2 others repaired and full.

Coturnix quail chicks have been selling really well this year.

Cheaper incubators need to be kept in a warm room and it has to be a stable temp .like a incubator in an incubator if you catch my drift .If not you will lose a lot of birds just before hatching

My Grandma burned up 1500 chicks along with the huge chicken house with a kerosene brooder.

Know a guy that burned up a hog house when he ran out of propane on the weekend and in order to keep his water from freezing until the next morning when he could get propane, he set up a couple of kerosene heaters and a hog got out of one of the pens and turned over a heater and burned the house and a bunch of fat hogs.

I'm just saying be careful.
