I finally made it back to a favorite lake in northern Jersey after a three year absence. I was worried I’d miss the walleye bite but they are still hitting.

What is the word about eating those fish now a days? I am sure that NJ is not the cleanest state around. WW II they dumped a lot of waste in the fields I remembering hearing that as a kid there.....j.k

Nice

They tried to get some walleye going down here in Texas but don't think they ever did much. Water probably too warm. There are a few lakes in the panhandle of Texas that have them

We caught a bunch of crappie, a few "goos" (drum) and a couple of yellow bass today

I’m releasing everything except the walleye. When I get a stringer full I will fillet them and take them home. I figure eating walleye once a year out of this lake isn’t going to kill me or the family. I doubt I would do it much more often than that though.

Yeah, walleye definitely prefer cooler water.

What’s a goo or drum?

Not much Walleye here in NH. The only place that holds them ..is the Connecticut River. That river divides NH from Vermont. Nevah fished it
