Had a kid mowing my 3/4 acre cabin yard that’s actual yard, he was using a zero turn and done in about 1 1/2 hours, he is 16. Thought it was a nice cash deal for him, now year two he decides he wants $60 a mow and it
(This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) me off so I’m mowing it myself again

His mower and gas,,, that's cheap.
My daughter has a small 50x100 foot lot, her mower and the young guy gets $30, for about 80 minutes of work. ( he sometimes spays for weeds in that price)

I charge about a dollar a minute here, depending on the difficulty and how much I have to weedeat. For some yards it takes me an hour and I'll charge 35- 40$ others it's 60$. I just did one out in the country the other day and it took me 3 hours and I charged 125$, I also had about 30 miles round trip added to that though.

Widow neighbor lady was getting hit $100 each time for about an acre. Told her my son would do it, including all the string trimming for $50. She was happy and so was I. Rather have him out working and learning than home thumb fiddling a phone or computer. Glad you found someone to take care of your place....

I pay 300 a month for them to mow/weed whip my place. My view is I can make an entire season of mowing and more in less time than it'd take me to mow 20 times. Leaves me to do the things in life that I enjoy.

I mow on the side and for me its not just the "size" of the property that I take into account. These are some things I consider:

1. How far do I have to drive to the property?
2. Is the property "open" or is there landscaping, trees, shrubs, sprinklers, or other obstacles?
3. What is the ground like? Smooth, rough, hilly, flat, rolling, etc...
4. How much weed eating is involved?
5. Do they have sidewalks that require edging?
6. How large/small is the property?
7. What height do they like their lawn cut at?
8. Weekly/biweekly

Like everything else in this world the cost of operating/maintaining equipment has gone up. Commercial mowers, weedeaters, blowers, edgers, fuel, filters, oil, blades, etc.. have all increased and as such the price I quote for lawncare has gone up. Sure, a HS kid will most likely be cheaper than I will, but his overhead is probably less. And, will he/she be reliable????

You will also see that there is no "standardized" pricing, it varies quite a bit by region. For me, anything less than $1 minute gets passed up.
