.10’s to .100’s of a second wins. First significant hit will decide the winner.

Probably more gunfights in one weekend in Chicago than the whole history of the wild west.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Likely true, Boco.

The clowns wielding guns shooting people in Chi town have no semblance to the OP’s gunfighters reference, they’re Mr. Boco.

Comparing that era of American History to todays American Travesty is a whizz poor comparison.

Spray-n-pray vs surgery.

I will pay attention to what Earp has to say on this subject.

My money's on The Best, Jerry Miculek.
He might not have the gunfighter mindset, but he can SHOOT.

There's a joke about a burglar's worst nightmare.
Breaking in a house, in the dark, and hearing Jerry's shot timer beep...

Video from 20+ years ago, and he hasn't really slowed down.
His daughter is also phenomenal.

2 minute vid

Have you ever shot a ball and cap pistol or a long colt?

I didn't really think about speed in a gunfight until I was in an old saloon from the 1880's . It was about the size of an average bedroom. Then you figure in blackpowder cartridges , tobacco and fire smoke . After the first shot, visibility would've been zilch.

Honor a Soldier. Be the kind of American worth fighting for.

I always heard a burglar's worst nightmare was the sound of an 870 slide shucking a round in the chamber. When you hear that, you are moments away from taking your last breath.

yes had a Ruger Old army , most accurate handgun I ever owned

a beer can at 25 yards laid on end was in trouble

you could even safely carry it with 6 loaded as it had notches between the nipples

in typical Ruger fashion an very sturdy built copy with Ruger's spin on it of a Remington 1858

you couldn't put too much powder in a Ruger old army , if you could seat the ball on it you were good I ran about 30gr for a very accurate load

sorry no video , if your talking to me and I sold the Ruger old army , because it was a pain to clean and so slow to load and I needed money to by my first Glock.

I bought low fixed it up and sold higher after shooting it a few years

It does come down to only hits count

the fastest miss is still a miss

so say you have a 0.7 second to first round out of the holster but you need 0.95 second to first round out with a solid hit where you want it 0.25 seconds is a wise investment

then knowing how fast or slow you need to go at ranges from arms length to 75 yards

you may hear in current competition. smooth is fast and fast is smooth

training your muscle memory to the least overall movement to accomplish a goal

you will actually hear Jerry Miculik talk about taking all the extra motion out , make it the simplest

Take off the wood grips and run it thru the dishwasher when your wife ain't home.

Have an Old Army and a number of BHs, some in .45

I did it in a dish pan on the kitchen table and rinsed it in the kitchen sink with my wife watching

but in comparison to the Glock I bought with the money from selling it.
that I clean like every 2-3K rounds by hosing it out with Hornady one shot and running a brush a few times it takes 5 minutes on the back porch

it also had to do with I just got into different gun games.

it all starts with the grip , it is the foundation of sight alignment and recoil management

start by building the grip

when the grip is right the sights are lined up as they reach your eye and the muzzle is on target with were you were looking
