I think I will have some Kraft dinner and weiners for lunch.
Bout as nasty as instant potatoes.

Used to when potatoes were cheap, I would buy a lot and we don't eat that many. I cooked them in my dog food. Then when gas prices went up and potatoes along with it, since we didn't eat all that many I started buying instant potatoes and keep them froze to keep the bugs out of them. But we don't really like them. Now she makes mashed potatoes out of canned potatoes and even potato salad and its working for us until the garden is ready.

I leave the house at 4 am and get home around 5pm if I don't have to stop anywhere, which I usually do, so it's usually 6 or so before I get home. There are days that I am NOT coming home and starting to peel potatoes. I can grab a rotisserie chicken, and have supper on the table in less than 10 minutes when I get home if using instant mashed potatoes. And I LIKE them. If I thought they tasted nasty it would be different but I don't.

I don't know but when was the last time you tried the Idahoan buttery homestyle ones? I like those almost as much as homemade.

Idaho and s are my favorite

Instant mashed potatoes are dehydrated potatoes. How are they not real potatoes?

I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes , better ways to cook potatoes .

The instant aren't bad , mostly because of the no lumps ..... Hate lumps in mashed potatoes.

Bad thing about instant mashed potatoes , and chips like Pringles , is that all the culled out and rotten potatoes go into these products

I have not had instant spuds since nam, nor the reconstituted powdered milk and all the rewetted dried veggies etc. I raise my own because I enjoy raising them even though buying them is cheaper. I don't use any chemicals or inorganic fertilizer to raise them however.

I used to only eat the genuine item in mashed potatoes, but now... I found these and they are easy to fix, the size serving is good, with great gravy to smother them in. All you need is a sauce pan and water for the gravy and the potatoes come their own containing. Put a small steak or half pound ground beef patty next to it and you have a meal in 10 minutes.

I was given a bag of them , and tried them just a couple weeks ago.
Not a fan , and never will be.
Left a strange after taste .
Maybe I didn't use enough gravy to cover the bad taste.
Funny thing is I asked my daughter about them , and she likes them.

I like to make them with canned vege's mixed in, like corn or carrots, and especially 'shrooms.

We dehydrated our potatoes with an air fryer last year. A whole pot of mashed potatoes fit into a quart jar. So far, so good.

Great backpacking food. Chop up some jerky and toss it in the water you boil to make the potatoes and you have a good supper! Idahoan butter and garlic are my favorite.

I prefer these over real mashed potatoes. I agree, not sure you could tell the 2 apart. They are not the grainy instant potatoes of years ago.
